US actor Michael Nader, best known for Dynasty, has died.

US actor Michael Nader, best known for Dynasty, has died, aged 76.

He died following a battle with cancer in Northern California.

Wife Jodi Lister said in a statement, “With heavy heart, I’m sharing the news of the passing of my beloved, Michael. We had 18 wonderful years together with the many dogs we fostered and adopted. Recently, Michael was so thrilled to reconnect with his friends from the cast of Dynasty during Emma Samms’ virtual event to help raise funds for long COVID research. Michael was working on a book about his life and addiction at the time of his death. He was a beautiful and fascinating man with many talents and skills. I will miss him forever.”

On Dynasty he played played Farnsworth “Dex” Dexter, who joined as a love interest for Alexis Colby (Joan Collins), from 1983 – 1989.

He got his start in television in Gidget, with further credits As the World Turns, Bare Essence and also starred as Dimitri Marick on US soap All My Children from 1991 to 2001.

Nader struggled with addiction throughout his life. In 1997, he was arrested for drink driving and in 2001, he was arrested for selling cocaine.

His other credits included The Flash, Law And Order: SVU , and Cold Case.
