Forget about Byron Bay….
The Block looks set to head to Gisborne South, 40 minutes north west of Melbourne for 2022.
The Sunday Herald Sun reports a farm-style setting with five houses on an estate is tipped, after executive producer Julian Cress bought in the area.
“We never confirm where we are making the show because we like to retain some element of surprise for our contestants,” Cress said.
“While I can’t confirm any rumour about where we are going next year, lifestyle properties in regional areas sounds like a great idea.
“If the rumour is true, whoever thought of it is a genius.”
So what about those Byron Bay rumours?
Nine has its annual Upfronts on Wednesday, but as TV Tonight previously noted, Nine had also announced Beach House Escape for 2021.

I hope they didn’t breach lockdown and unnecessarily travel to Regional Victoria to inspect the property.
If it’s true it will put the minds of a number of production crew at ease who have been watching show after show head north in recent times.
Bit of a stretch to call Gisborne South “regional”, in a decade it will be gobbled up into Metro Melb and is actually closer to Melbourne CBD than Frankston is
give them each a shipping container and tell them to decorate a house out of it.
Actually that was done in Top Design, Jamie Durie.
As the producers are Melbourne based that makes more sense than moving to Byron
Why not Adelaide? House prices are skyrocketing here because of interstate buyers.
I think a regional move for the block is a good idea…mix it up a bit
Not a fan of byron but there are plenty of good decent regional centres across Aus
