In 1980 pop star Ray Burgess strutted his stuff on The Don Lane Show with a version of the Skatt Bros.’ “Life out the Outpost”
But as handsome as Ray was, it was those Tony Bartuccio dancers that really stole the limelight.

Was it just me or was this a whole lot of miscues by some of the dancers
Definite Ministry of Silly Walks vibe in the Bartuccio choreography!
That was fun to watch!
I stumbled across old Fast Forward episodes, which included Gina Riley as Eleanor LaGore doing “The Saturday Show”. This is giving me all those feels!
A bit like this Flashback.
Yes, Ray Burgess was indeed a very handsome man in his heyday.
Clearly remember him performing ‘Touch Me’ on Countdown. Was very popular with all the teenage girls in the studio that day..
He also hosted arvo show Flashez on ABC.
Yes, really enjoyed Flashez hosted by Ray and Mike Meade way back then.
Rage occasionally features old Flashez segments during their Retro month in January.
Wow, that was really something haha. Impressive staging too. I wish we had some kind of variety show still on Australian TV.
The good ol Don Lane show, how I miss that show.
