  1. They have killed this show. Such a shame because it used to be so good. They are not even remotely funny, would much rather some contestants who take it seriously. Can someone also tell the host to stop shouting, doesn’t he know he has a microphone attached… The show is also way too long, sometimes it takes 10-15 minutes before even getting the first game underway… Ridiculous.

  2. Last week’s episode was the worst yet, and I suspect that this may set a new all-time low with Richards now as a contestant.

The show as a whole would be a lot less irritating if they would stop casting “comedians” who aren’t even remotely good at their so-called profession. The extremely lenient scoring is also quite insulting to long-time fans who expect at least some semblance of integrity to the proceedings (because they’re certainly not delivering on the humour angle, with David Astle – ironically enough – consistently dishing out the show’s best zingers).

The almost ritualistic weekly mention of “race” also extinguishes any semblance of genuineness from the conversation, as everybody verbalises on eggshells lest they arouse the indignation of activists of some persuasion.

I’ll continue watching for David, Lily (love them both), and the puzzles, but the show’s a stinker, and I can imagine many long-time fans switching off in disappointment after such a long hiatus.
