Axed: Big Brother: VIP

In case you missed it, Seven's plans for 2022 are already undergoing changes.

EXCLUSIVE:

In case you missed it, Seven has confirmed it is not returning Big Brother: VIP for 2022.

Seven’s Head of Scheduling Brook Hall confirmed the news in this week’s Programming Wrap published here.

The show was previously announced as part of 2022 Upfronts. But that was before the 2021 season struggled with viewers.

The focus is now on the main event due in Q2 which sees returning favourites previous seasons on Nine and 10.

A format shake-up also sees nominations return this year.

“It won’t be as formulaic as ‘Here comes the challenge, the eviction segment.’ There’ll be nomination nights, task nights, it will be broken up…. we want to make sure there’s some fun in there,” he revealed.

Viewers will still choose the winner at the end of the season.

Hall also revealed Apartment Rules is like to move to 2023, and potentially Australian Idol while COVID is impacting Live productions.
