Jesse Spencer to make Chicago Fire return

Aussie star to return as a guest for a Chicago Fire wedding.

Jesse Spencer will make a return to Chicago Fire after departing the show last October.

He will make a guest return for the Season 10 finale, for Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella’s (Miranda Rae Mayo) wedding.

“Basically, we went to Jesse a month ago or so. We officially said, ‘Severide’s getting married and there’s no way that Severide can get married without his best friend and his best man at the wedding. So whatever we need to say to get you to come with us, please,’” says co-showrunner Derek Haas. “Jesse is the greatest and we were thrilled he agreed to do it.”

But not everything will be smooth sailing.

“The wedding is not going to go as planned. Plus, there’ll be at least one surprise guest at the wedding besides Jesse. It became a matter of how many people could we get in one day availability-wise, so we put together a wish list,” says Haas.

Co-showrunner Andrea Newman adds, “We had kind of endless wish list that went on pages, but that being said, we also have all these twists and turns in the wedding itself. People that we wanted to get there might might not make it.”

Was sad to see him leave the show near the start of this season, obviously as I’d grown up when he was on neighbours, glad he will make an appearance again. 7 used to show this later at night, I could never understand when it started why they had never promoted it more to the connection with him and neighbours, Australia’s own etc, not sure if they still show it or only on their 7Plus service.

  2. I thought the article was going to read Jessie returns to Neighbours. We can only hope. I had no idea he had left Chicago Fire, I like the show, but dropped it a while back.
