Ellen tapes final show

"Being invited into your lives has been the greatest privilege of my life," says Ellen.

Ellen DeGeneres has filmed her final episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, ending a 19 year run.

“When we started this show in 2003, the iPhone didn’t exist. Social Media didn’t exist. Gay marriage wasn’t legal. We watched the world change, sometimes for the better, sometimes not,” she wrote on Twitter.

“But whatever was happening, my goal was always for the show to be a place where we could all come together and laugh for an hour. Being invited into your lives has been the greatest privilege of my life and has brought me incredible joy. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

Set to screen stateside on May 26th, the series is no longer screening in Australia, so it’s unclear if this will broadcast locally.

  1. Just wondering on how we can watch it here in Aus. I’ve watched ellentube on YouTube for bits and pieces of this season, but really miss watching the show in its entirety.

    1. Nine Network ditched the show and if it’s not available on any of the subscription or streaming services in Australia, then it might not be available for the consumer end broadcast market in Australia. The decision to not broadcast Ellen on Foxtel anymore was due to declining ratings after the toxic workplace scandal.

  2. It’s awkward that the show continued after the scandals. The last season has had a lot of fill-in hosts. I’d prefer The Kelly Clarkson Show.
