Karl “upset” over election night snub

"It’s kind of like doing all the preliminary games for two years and then missing out on the Super Bowl."

Speaking to podcast Something to Talk About with Samantha Armytage, he said. “I was upset that I didn’t host the election … It’s kind of like doing all the preliminary games for two years and then missing out on the Super Bowl.”

“But it’s not something you need to articulate in a particularly public fashion: ‘I was really shitty.’ No, no.

“When you’ve been in broadcasting as long as I have, you’re going to get some gigs, you’re not going to get them all.

“You think about it for a while and you go, other people make those decisions … I’ll just stay at home and [shrug it off].”

Last week Stefanovic denied there was any ‘tantrum’ thrown inside Nine following a Daily Telegraph report Allison Langdon had “vented her frustration” to Nine’s director of news Darren Wick.

  1. No mention of Peter Overton. All me, me, me. Karl gets hours more than 15 hours on air each week, Peter anchors the top rating news bulletin in Australia’s biggest city for 5 hours a week in prime time. The network made the right choice and rewarded loyalty and success

Ummm. So here’s an idea… maybe don’t talk about it on a podcast with someone who until last year was a fellow high profile breakfast TV presenter?
Oh, and if the show you’ve hosted for the better part of 20 years rated better, you might have been asked to anchor the election coverage.
