Today Show producer departs

James Birtles heads to SKY News, with Kendall Bora promoted to new role.

Changes are afoot at the Today show production team.

Executive Producer James Birtles is moving on to a new role at SKY News, which sees Weekend Today executive producer Kendall Bora promoted to the role.

Current Supervising Producer Lesa De Re is also going on maternity leave and her position is being filled by Michael Kersnovske while she’s away.

The changes comes after Today show landed third in the weekly breakfast battle behind Sunrise and ABC’s News Breakfast -however Nine is on track to snatch that back this week.

Steve Burling remains Director of Morning Television at Nine.

  1. I alternate between Sunrise and Today, switching from Today when Brooke becomes annoying (which is frequent) or Jacqui Lambie comes on for her regular segment. Nat’s okay on Sunrise but I really miss Samantha Armytage.
