Returning: Plat du Tour

French chef Guillaume Brahimi returns for a third year as Tour de France kicks off.

SBS’s food shorts Plat du Tour, presented by French chef Guillaume Brahimi, return for a third year, accompanying coverage of the Tour de France.

The series will feature 21 recipes that originate from different regions of France, Copenhagen, Switzerland and Belgium and correlate to the different tour stages. 10-minute episodes see Brahimi demonstrate quick, easy methods for viewers to create their own dishes.

Recipes include Langoustine and Truffle Pasta from the ancient city of Saint Gaudens, Raclette Savoyarde, a cheesy treat from the alps, Le Welsh (Croque monsieur du Nord) a French take on the ‘Welsh rabbit’, and Tourte des Pyrénées aux Myrtilles, a blueberry torte from the heart of the Pyrenees.

Plat du Tour segments will be available for catch-up on SBS Food Online and SBS On Demand and will air as special episodes on SBS Food after the 2022 Tour de France is complete. Plat du Tour is produced by Blink TV for SBS.

French-born Guillaume Brahimi is one of Australia’s most popular and acclaimed chefs. He moved to Sydney in the 1990s and in 2001, he won the prestigious contract to take over the flagship restaurant at the Sydney Opera House and in 2001, he launched Guillaume at Bennelong. He’s since opened Bistro Guillaume in Melbourne and Perth. In 2014, Guillaume was a recipient of the Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Merite (Knight of the National Order), a prestigious honour endowed by the French government for outstanding services rendered to France in Foreign Affairs and International Development. In 2015, Guillaume was named Chef of the Year at the annual GQ Men Of The Year awards.
