Micallef book to reveal Mad as Hell secrets

New book to name the politician who objected to their portrayal on ABC comedy and vented to the host?

When he finishes with Mad as Hell next week Shaun Micallef’s immediate attention goes to his upcoming book, to be released in October.

Included in the insights will be naming the politician who objected to their portrayal on the ABC comedy and vented to the host in its early years.

“I’m holding it back. I’ve got a book coming out. So the story’s in there and I do name who it is,” he tells TV Tonight.

“It’s called Tripping Over Myself. It’s the story of Mad as Hell, the story of every comedy bit I’ve done. It’s subtitled ‘A Memoir of a Life in Comedy.’ So I talk about my love of comedy.”

Micallef, who admitted to struggling with ‘playing himself’ on SBS doco Who Do You Think You Are? prefers to stay behind the comedic mask and remain private.

“This is me really coming out of the woods….” he concedes.

The book is release on October 5 with Micallef to appear in book signings.
