Airdate: Glass Onion

Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monae star in the follow up to Knives Out.

Glass Onion, the follow up to Rian Johnson’s Knives Out, will screen on Netflix in December following a cinema run.

Detective Benoit Blanc travels to Greece to peel back the layers of a mystery involving a new cast of colorful suspects.

The cast includes Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline with Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista.

“We had such an amazing cast in the last one and I didn’t know how we were going to top that, but we’ve equaled it. The working experience, just to come on set and make these movies is such fun,” Daniel Craig said.

“The mystery is not going to be what keeps the audience in their seats. Remember first and foremost that you’re making a movie and that it has to dramatically work before it intellectually works as a puzzle,” writer-director Rian Johnson says. “That’s actually still the hard part – creating a good story that feels unique and feels exciting and emotionally feels satisfying at the end.”

Director: Rian Johnson
Writer: Rian Johnson

Executive Producer: Tom Karnowski

Friday December 23 on Netflix.

  1. The first one was overrated crap. Mystery film for people who don’t watch mystery films or read mystery novels but “like” the idea of them. With actors just chewing the scenery. The sequel looks potentially good, but I doubt I will watch.

  2. In March 2021, in an inexplicable and “mind-boggling” deal, Netflix bought the rights to two sequels to Knives Out for $469 million (Wikipedia). Released to US cinema chains for a week’s showing this month before being streamed on Netflix. Knives Out (2019) earned $311million worldwide so Netflix could be on a winner here. Maybe 2yrs or more before Glass Onion hits our FTA screens.
