  1. Jeremy Renner is certainly provided with the chance to expand his acting abilities in this show, and I initially found the prison peacekeeper theme to be a catchy one, though Renner’s square jawed character Mike would probably have had a short life in reality. The series story arc reveals the versatility of Taylor Sheridan when co- developing successful masculine screenplays, though some Hollywood critics do like to criticize him for drowning his shows in excessive testosterone, ”its possible to behave heroically in Taylor Sheridan’s world”, as one The Hollwood Reporter critic put it, but wasn’t exactly sold on the idea when he wrote it. ”There are too many corrupt and antiquated systems in place for a character to emerge as a true hero”, he added.
Well that is Taylor Sheridan, a man’s man who is a bit old fashioned and chooses not to follow current trends.
