High profile documentary series to screen from Thursday.

High profile six part documentary series Harry & Meghan will screen in two parts on Netflix from Thursday.

In an unprecedented and in-depth documentary series, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share the other side of their high-profile love story. Across six episodes, the series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution.

With commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed, and historians who discuss the state of the British Commonwealth today and the royal family’s relationship with the press, the series does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other.

  1. I’m sure this will gloss over the part where they wanted to ditch the civic duty of being a royal and monetize it to be influencers. Being a royal means you’re famous but you can’t be a celebrity like all the others. There seems to be little learned from the great women in Harry’s life. Elizabeth and Diana. It’s just sad.
That said, much to the disagreement of my wife. I totally can see why Harry may wanted to have opted out and could be living a good life in California. It’s just this wanting fame and fortune aspect which is off putting.
One massive thing to keep into consideration is that this is an American show and they don’t get the royals. So everything is off.

  2. I’m guilty of watching a bit of ‘road smash’ TV from time to time so will probably at least give it a go. But I will definitely be keeping in mind that as it’s obviously being told from their POV and the narrative will be seeking as much sympathy go the Sussex way as possible, that there is always two sides to every story! It would have way more credibility if it was independently produced. It’s not so I’ll have a listen to what they have to say but also remembering (and the Sussex’s banking on) the age old adage “Never let the truth get in the way of a good story”!

  3. I’ll be avoiding this like the plague, just one question “why”. They we’re looking for privacy in Britain and decided to skip to the US to get away from scrutiny and now they have become “The Royal Kardashians” to maintain their lifestyle and unfortunately this will continue for years to come. If you have a falling out with your family you don’t go and air your “dirty laundry” all over the world. I bet Americans will lap this up being “celebrity focused”.

  4. This does feel like something that I shouldn’t be watching and yet I couldn’t turn away! It is sad to see family issues being played out in public like that.
