  1. Yes its a bit of an odd choice getting Brooke B to do it…would have thought the perfect chance to promote the new ACA or Today show hosts. It gets pretty good numbers from memory.

  2. I won’t be watching if David Campbell is hosting with his permanent smile and big ego, just like I can’t watch Today summer series because he is hosting now. I don’t know why Nine can’t see this. The A team Today show hosts should always host the carols, just fly them down and back in a private plane like they used to with Lisa Wilkinson. Amelia and Karl would have been the best combination for Carols and Today 2023.

  3. It is a quintessential Melbourne event why do Sydney television executives always use second rate Sydney personalities who most viewers like me would not know them. The year Eddie McGuire and Livonia Nixon hosted was by far the best year. I just wonder if Sydney television executives would use Melbourne personalities on a Sydney event, of course not as seeing everything now comes out of Sydney Melbourne does not have any personalities, very sad.

    1. Have a look at ABC’s New Years Eve coverage – a Sydney event hosted by Melburnians. Yet, not one person from Sydney feels insecure enough to complain.

    2. You’d have to have been living under a rock not to know David Campbell though ? He’s been hosting Carols for years and is also a national broadcaster each weekend. I am lucky enough to go to the Carols each year and love the energy he brings as a presenter … and this may shock you … but I fly down from Sydney for the Carols each year.

    1. You assume those two high profile network personalities, a) want to work Christmas Eve and b) want to at least spend part of Christmas day in Melbourne (nothing against Melbourne, but I assume they’re both Sydney based and might want to be at home on Christmas morning).
