US actor Annie Wersching best known for 24 and Star Trek: Picard has died.

US actor Annie Wersching best known for 24 and Star Trek: Picard has died, aged 45.

She passed away after being diagnosed with cancer in 2020.

Since that time she continued her acting career, appearing in both Star Trek: Picard and The Rookie.

Wersching featured as Renee Walker in two seasons of 24, having begun her acting career with a guest appearance on Star Trek: Enterprise. She was a series regular on Bosch and Marvel’s Runaways.

There were also guest roles on such shows as Charmed, Killer Instinct, Supernatural and Cold Case and a recurring role on General Hospital.

She is also well-known for her voice performance as Tess Servopoulos in the 2013 video game The Last of Us.

  1. 45 is just waaay too young to shuffle off this mortal coil. (Maybe there’s just a little bit of 41yo me questioning my mortality in that). I quit 24 before she arrived, and I can’t immediately place her in Supernatural, but I’ve likely seen her in that. Her recurring role on Bosch was small but good. She was brilliant as Tess in TLOU. I’ve not started it yet, but I hope Anna Torv does an equally stellar job.

She only appeared in one ep of ‘Supernatural’-given how long that series lasted, it wasn’t unusual for players to appear more than once as different characters-she did do a lot of sci fi/fantasy stuff over the years but rarely as a lead. I recall Annie from ‘Bosch’ as a major character in the 1st season and an occasional in seasons after that, something that that series did quite often. Gone way too soon. RIP Madam.
