Nine to screen Olivia Newton-John state memorial

Nine will screen the State Memorial Service for Olivia Newton-John to be held on Sunday February 26.

The event at Hamer Hall in Melbourne will be an opportunity for Victorians to honour Dame Olivia’s memory and her achievements across both music and cancer awareness.

It will be attended by dignitaries, family, friends, colleagues in both music and wellness and general public.

The event, which will also be Live Streamed at a Victorian Government site, will begin at 4pm AEDT and expected to conclude by 6pm.

On the preceding night Saturday February 25, Nine will also screen ONJ movie double Grease at 8:30pm and Xanadu from 10:45pm.

In 2022 Nine screened the Shane Warne State Memorial on multichannel 9GEM whilst Seven drew big numbers on its primary channel. A Bert Newton State Funeral in 2021 was screened across Nine, Seven, 10, ABC News and SKY News.

In lieu of flowers and at the request of Dame Olivia’s family, memorial tributes may be made in the form of contributions to the Wellness Programs at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre.
