Better Homes & Gardens adopts a Mother’s Day theme this week with gift and picnic ideas and a pottery business with 78% women.

Johanna – Pottery Paradise
What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than celebrating a mum who has juggled children, life and creating a world-renowned pottery business. From a backyard shed pottery wheel, to a factory handcrafting almost five thousand beautiful pieces a week, Mud Australia has conquered the world. As Joh tours the Sydney factory chatting to owner Shelley Simpson, she sees the production process from start to finish and learns about the company’s commitment to sustainability, recycling and an inclusive workplace that features 78% women. The tour ends in the loft-style apartment above the factory, which was recently converted into Shelley’s family home. So come join Johanna as she plays in the mud!

“Can someone please let the dogs out?” is common refrain all over the country but could be a thing of the past. Adam’s going to show you how to install a doggy door using off the shelf products. Have you ever heard of a duck who doesn’t like to swim? Well, you soon will as Dr Harry meets ‘Salad’ the duck who isn’t so partial to water. Salad lives on a small farm run by a couple who moved to the country to experience the good life. Their farm provides fresh produce for their nearby restaurant, but with many animals and a menagerie of birds, there are bound to be some problems. Not only does Salad not like to swim, but she is always dirty and has lost a lot of feathers too. Can Dr Harry solve this mystery and finally teach Salad the duck the meaning of the phrase “like a duck to water”?
