NRL 360 presenter Paul Kent will not appear on air in coming weeks after he was allegedly involved in an altercation.
Kent, 53, also a rugby league journalist for The Daily Telegraph, has been charged with common assault and choking a person without consent.
Police were called to a home in Lilyfield on Friday morning and arrested Kent and a 33-year-old woman, Nine News reported. The woman was released without charge.
“Paul Kent has been stood down from his duties with News Corp and FOX Sports while he deals with this personal matter,” News Corp said in a statement.
Kent has been a presenter on NRL 360 since its inception in 2013.
He was granted bail and will face court later this month.
