This week on Better Homes & Gardens, Johanna and Adam are on a road trip through Northern Ireland to Belfast.

Johanna + Adam – Northern Ireland Road Trip – Week One
Starting in the famous Giants Causeway, Johanna and Adam embark on an epic road trip through Northern Ireland to Belfast. After marvelling at the magical coastline, they’ll stop at the picturesque Ballintoy to try the local delicacy, soda bread. While Joh learns how it’s made, Adam works up his appetite paddling across Strangford Lough. Dry-stone walls are a feature of the countryside, but you might be surprised the skill it takes to build one. Our intrepid duo certainly is when they make a valiant attempt. All that work builds up a thirst which is appreciatively quenched at a boutique whisky distillery. And finally, they see where the Titanic was built before it set sail on its fateful maiden voyage, before setting sail themselves.

Dr Harry – Angie The Curly Horned Goat
Tonight, Dr Harry meets a woman whose love of Australia’s wide-open spaces and interesting animals took her and her husband from the Swiss Alps to the Australian bush. They now have a menagerie of animals of their own, but it’s a goat that Dr Harry’s there to see. Angie has a curly horn that’s growing in the wrong direction! Can Dr Harry help before the horn starts to really hurt Angie?

Aimee – Tradie Trailblazer
Ashley Beeby loves writing and literature and excelled at school. So, it was a big surprise to her friends and family when she decided not to become a doctor or lawyer, but to take the path of a trailblazing lady tradie. After 18 months working on heavy vehicles at a Queensland coal mine, she’s now closer to home in Melbourne – but still working on excavators and large trucks. As she shows Aimee how these skills have transferred to doing home DIY, they chat about how entering the trades is still unusual for women, but how fulfilling it can be.

Fast Ed – Gourmet Meatloaf With Candied Carrots And Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Meatloaf might seem a bit old-fashioned and even passe, but Ed’s got a few tricks to get your family loving it again. First starters, wrapping the loaf in bacon is always going to be a winner, but combining the loaf with candied carrots and roasted brussels sprouts makes it a meal fit for a family dinner.

Ed – Rhubarb Pie
With the end of winter, Ed’s making use of produce that is perfectly ripe right now; and that means rhubarb pies. If you haven’t attempted to make pastry before, Ed will show you an easy way to make it and form it into little pie moulds using dishes you might already have in your cupboard. Cream cheese delightfully complements the rhubarb filling with the end result being both impressive and delicious.

Graham – More To Explore At The Arboretum
The National Arboretum in Canberra is an amazing collection of 94 living breathing forests, growing over 250 hectares, as far as the eye can see. Not only is it a place of beauty, but a conservation area for rare and endangered tree species as well. But, beyond the forests, Graham is going to explore enchanting gardens, unusual landforms and an incredibly diverse collection of bonsai. This is a real treat for tree lovers.

Charlie – Screen With Green
When it comes to screening your garden there are two main options, screens of timber and metal or natural screens like trees, shrubs and hedges. But figuring out what is right for you can be difficult, so Charlie is here to help you out. Whether it’s size, texture, evergreen or deciduous, he’ll run through all things you need to know to grow the right screen for you. So don’t hedge your bets, follow Charlie’s advice and your hedge will be… hedge-tastic!

Juliet – Wire Flowers
Juliet has a fun little art project to create some flowers that won’t need changing every week. Using some plastic-coated wire, she’ll show you how to sculpt flowers, leaves or any shape you like. The best part is, they’ll last forever.
