  1. I’m looking forward to the dramas listed. Am sad snack masters isn’t coming back. Is Ninja Warrior gone for good? That was a ratings hit for 9 so don’t know why they’ve dumped it. Am surprised The Summit is coming back didn’t think it rated that well.

  2. And so what are they going to do with,
    Celebrity Apprentice.
    Beauty & The Geek.
    Pointless.
    The Weakest Link.
    Super Rugby.

Any news on them?? Are they Keep, Hold or Gone.??

  3. It would have been nice to have a little more drama in the mix but Nine seem to really dislike scripted material – has the Shane Warne thing really been their only home made drama this year?

  4. Not a bad line up. One thing confuses me is that Channel 7 has the rights for the cricket but 9 has the rights for the World Cup. Another thing is that the Paralympics starts 28th August next year unless I’m mistaken the US Open tennis starts around the same time. Channel 9 will have their hands full juggling the schedule of the Paralympics and the Tennis.

    1. Different rights agreement. Seven’s rights are for domestic games (via Cricket Australia). Foxtel acquire most overseas rights (Test Campionship is a notable exception) and Nine also buy the rights for games covered by the anti siphoning list. The World Cup riggts are sold by the ICC.

  5. Tony Jones and Eddie Maquire ….. why oh why? Also on the cricket, seven not securing the recent Ashes and now the ICC ODI seems a mistake. Perhaps linked to seven having to focus on its debt levels at the time of rights being negotiated (their debt still high but more than half what it was at the peak a few years back) but seven, you would think, wants to be home of cricket. This tournament will be at least partly on during our prime time and could very well make the difference between nine and seven as most watched network for 2023. Not a small deal. You would have thought seven and foxtel could have arranged something.

  6. All I can say going by the many complaints…..it is a free service…you are not “contracted” by the channel so you don’t have to watch any of the shows…the simply answer is…switch to another channel if you don’t like the line up…or splurge out and use a Pay or streaming service…that’s exactly what I do..I don’t watch Nine…I prefer other FTA, Foxtel and streaming….it really is that simple.

    1. I mean this is a TV site, we all to some extent follow what shows are on to see what will entertain and inform us.

So I think this is a place to critique and say opinions “yeah, nothing much for me here”.

      1. If you’re referring to me, or other “people” of color, which I assume you are, then I’m just commenting on what I see. – it’s not a judgment; I see it.
I certainly am not inclined to watch 9. I know people of color in Australia in 2023 represent far more than the approximately 5% we see in that picture, and it would make sense for networks to catch up and start showing a more accurate reflection. This was not a comment about you or your article/website, just a comment on the picture that Nine have chosen. Australian network TV does seem a little behind the times when it comes to representation, and I think that unless it is pointed out (when this obvious) things will be slow to change. It certainly wasn’t mean to trigger any readers.

  7. I’m absolutely shocked they’re bringing back The Summit. It was a dud the first time around and hardly rated. Weird, maybe I’m missing something.

    1. Well the write up outlines that 9 & Endermol created the format, and I think they want to sell it as format. It would not exactly be a ringing endorsement of their own format had they axed it.

Plus, I think it is relatively inexpensive by design (certainly not to say it’s a cheep looking show, it just has fewer moving pieces). Just a group of contestants, a small camera crew, no major built sets, a mountain, and 2-3 weeks for filming.

  8. No Tony Jones for the Olympics is a massive bonus. Todd Woodbridge hosting Aus Tipping Point? I was happy to hear we were getting an Aussie version, but he is so vanilla – should have just kept Ben as host and had Aussie competitors.

  9. Jeopardy Australia…with an English host. I love Stephen Fry but surely we have presenters/actors here who could do the job. Other than that its all very boring.

  10. Oh help us & say that Nine is not just the only broadcaster of the Cricket World Cup in Australia?

After their crap broadcast of the Ashes cricket … Nine would go to an ad at the end of ***every*** over & I do mean every over. These ads were just the same group of just a few, again and again and again. They also got it wrong on numerous times as well. During the longer breaks, it was ad after ad after ad.

Cricket is the only sport that I really follow & the only sport I would & did stay up to 3am in the morning to watch. In the end, I had to save my sanity and gave up watching the cricket on Nine.

  11. Boring seems like there’s trying to appeal to a older audience with jeopardy and tipping point sad no Australian ninja warrior I miss that show and the American one no longer airs here

  12. Apart from Beyond the Dream & Paris Games, nothing good there. Nine liked to shove the same old shows down our throats. And why having one-off Footy show is way beyond me. I’m so worried that 7 News presenter Bec Maddern will appear one-off on Nine. The Food Stars is unwatchable becuase of Gordon Ramsay’s over-inflated ego. Channel 9 is becoming increasingly unberable with cheap & nasty TV and unfunny shows.

  13. Interesting, so Tony Jones and Roz Kelly dropped as hosts for the Olympics (would’ve imagined it’d replicate Australian Open hosts), instead they’ll be ‘news presenters’, while their main star James Bracey remains (presume he’ll be given whatever session hits our prime time). And like London 2012 Karl Stefanovic and Eddie McGuire make a return (although presume Karl will be a special edition Today Show hence Sarah Abo too?) Ally Langdon is a surprise, maybe a special edition ACA or perhaps had written into her contract ‘major special events’ LOL

  14. Nine 2024 upfronts? We’ve got the Olympics! and some filler. What a dull non exciting slate. I don’t even think it will make ripples in the media this week.

  15. A bit bare bones for me.

I might check out Jeopardy and maybe if there’s nothing else on and I need something on the background Summit season 2

But everything else looks like reheated leftovers from 9. But, I guess if it ain’t broke …
