US drama The Rookie: Feds has been axed after one season by the ABC network.
The spinoff of The Rookie, which was renewed for a sixth season, stars Niecy Nash-Betts as Simone Clark, a former Washington, D.C. school counselor who, at the age of 48, finally achieved her lifelong dream of joining the FBI as a special agent.
The Rookie: Feds screens in Australia on Seven.
ABC will also not move forward with The Good Doctor spinoff, The Good Lawyer.

Rookie Feds was just awful, it rated 5.3 on IMBD and failed to capture Rookie fans. They badly Mary Sued the lead character. Even when they did an episode to show she couldn’t burn the candle at both ends as an over 50, they had her drive off the road because she fell asleep at wheel, then beat a Chess champion in 2 minutes on no sleep. They did write some better eps at the end and its ratings went up to 2.5 – 3m . But too little too late. Networks will be scrambling to get reduced seasons of their top shows on Jan – Jun. Taking risks on new shows is out.
Well this sucks I really enjoy that show & was looking to the Good lawyer spin off from the Good Doctor.
What a shame. I felt it had just hit its stride and was really enjoying it.
Disappointing for Kennedy McMann, particularly as the Good Lawyer pilot was pretty strong, but it was inevitable that any shows without a formal pick-up/renewal pre-strike would be dumped to save money if the strike went too long.
