  1. Since ten news is going to be late at night and at 3.30pm then done will have a long run im sure there be prizes up for grabs soon… a very identical set to channel 7 and brief cases… should consider doing a monopoly special down track so top 4 big pots be 100000, 75000, 50000 and 25000

  2. Definitely think this could do well, although Ten has to stick with the show even if there a low ratings, to let the viewership grow.

Hopefully they aren’t expecting numbers to be high initially, as audiences haven’t had an entertainment show in the 6pm timeslot for a while.

  3. Clearly a good product, so definitely not going to work that well for Channel 10, but will work for P+. If current TV audiences have a taste for good production, 10 has to be the most-watched network, but it is not. Many people are going to watch the 6 pm news instead of this

  4. I recently watched the UK revival of this while I was over there. 22 ‘boxes’ and it runs for 1 hour. It was the most painfully drawn out thing I’ve ever watched. Regards our version, why not just leave it at $200K as the top case? It’s so rarely won anyway?

    1. I believe the American version was a weekly prime time series, rather than a daily series (like ours) so the prize has to be smaller

However, I don’t know if I like how they’ve reduced the top prize from $200,000 (as was the 7 version)

    2. My sentiments exactly. We’re in a cost of living crisis and they reduce the top prize down, not up. Just typical of the times hey? It’s not like it’s even going to go off all that often, the chances are very slim. I can’t remember how much the $200 000 went off in the previous version but I believe it was quite rarely. What’s the bottom value going to be, 5 cents now I bet…

  5. There was a recent revival of DoND in the UK. However, it was either shelved or cancelled after 4 weeks. It’s an unusually short run. Has DoND run its lifespan? It’s a gamble for Ten. Timeslot is decent though, especially for those that don’t like to watch news. It has somewhat relatively broad appeal. It’ll have a following just on the format alone, but just how popular will it be?

I think the number one rule for the game is to not be too greedy and know when it’s time to take the deal. Some contestants are too greedy, have the ‘I’m only here once’ attitude, or are wanting to please the audience that are shouting “no deal”, then end up with the small offer.
