As tipped, Tracy Grimshaw will join Dr. Nick Coatsworth on upcoming medical documentary series, Do You Want to Live Forever?

Nine News reporters Dimity Clancey and Adam Hegarty will join 60 Minutes when it returns in February.

Nine’s event also highlighted upcoming game show Tipping Point hosted by Todd Woodbridge, plus the Today show with Karl Stefanovic & Sarah Abo and Under Investigation with Liz Hayes.

A second project for Grimshaw is expected to be revealed later.

Do You Want to Live Forever?

Walkley-winning Tracy Grimshaw joins medical expert Dr Nick Coatsworth in Do You Want to Live Forever?

The series by Lune Media explores the quest for longer life, and whether we can we stay younger longer. Can we beat the diseases that take away our joy for life and ultimately kill us? Can we push the boundaries of human longevity much further than we have so far? Could we even live forever? And most importantly, if we could, do we want to?

Tracy Grimshaw said: “This project was Nick Coatsworth’s idea and I’m really looking forward to working with him on it. I’m keen to explore exactly what a long life will look like. While in honesty I really haven’t spent my life looking for the fountain of youth, I’m fascinated by how far people are taking that search, and how advanced medicine is becoming in that space. I’m a bit of a medical nerd so the research has been a pleasure.”

Dr Nick Coatsworth said: “For centuries people have been captivated by the idea of living forever. I am extremely excited to be working with the highly respected Tracy Grimshaw on this new series. Together, we will follow eight everyday Australians as they positively shift the dial of their health and longevity.”

Drawing on Grimshaw’s investigative background from A Current Affair and Dr Coatsworth’s medical expertise, they combine journalistic finesse with medical acumen. Together, they meticulously uncover the intricacies of ageing, seeking to determine whether we can in fact rewind our biological clock.

The program will follow four pairs of everyday Australians as they undergo medically supervised trials and health interventions that may provide clues to help us live longer. Through them, we will understand what the future holds, but most importantly, what we can do for ourselves, our kids and even their kids, to lead better, healthier, longer lives.

Do You Want to Live Forever? promises to challenge our perceptions of ageing and mortality. Join Tracy Grimshaw and Dr Nick Coatsworth on this extraordinary exploration when the series premieres later this year on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Do You Want to Live Forever? is produced by Lune Media, with executive producers David Galloway, Ashley Davies and Leonie Lowe.

60 Minutes returns for its 46th season in 2024 and welcomes two new reporters.

Investigative journalist Dimity Clancey and seasoned news correspondent Adam Hegarty join Liz Hayes, Tara Brown, Nick McKenzie and Amelia Adams, after Tom Steinfort moved to Nine News Melbourne.

60 Minutes holds a special place in the hearts of millions of Australians, mine included,” said Clancey. “The opportunity to contribute to its legacy is a dream come true for me. “What excites me is that the program’s consistent ability to foster meaningful conversations and drive positive change aligns with my passion for storytelling that matters.”

“Joining 60 Minutes is a professional milestone and an absolute honour,” Hegarty said. “It’s the program every journalist aspires to be a part of, and I feel privileged to join its esteemed ranks.

“I’m looking forward to collaborating with some of Australia’s most celebrated journalists and contributing to the incredible team behind this powerhouse program. I’m ready to make my mark.”

Kirsty Thomson, Executive Producer said: “It’s wonderful to embark on a new year by welcoming Dimity and Adam to our line-up of reporters. They have an enormously exciting job ahead of them, and I have no doubt they’ll succeed in ensuring the program remains a cherished Sunday night tradition for millions of Australians.

“As the years unfold, our audience continues to grow, not only on traditional free-to-air television but also across the 9Network’s dynamic streaming and social media platforms. I look forward to seeing what everyone at 60 Minutes can achieve in 2024, knowing our commitment is fuelled by an incredible energy and the unwavering drive the program has long been celebrated for.”

After starting her career in regional New South Wales, Dimity Clancey moved to 9News Sydney in 2010, covering the all-consuming police and crime round. In 2016, she joined A Current Affair where her reputation for fearless reporting was further enhanced as she continued to break major stories, confront criminals and advocate for vulnerable Australians. A year later, Clancey’s work was recognised with a prestigious Walkley Award for her story detailing the chilling confessions of fugitive and murderer Malcolm Naden. In 2020, Clancey also received the Kennedy Award for Outstanding Nightly Current Affairs reporting.

Adam Hegarty’s career in journalism began in newspapers before the lure of television took hold in 2013. Since then he has worked as a reporter, producer and writer in newsrooms around the world, including at SKY News (UK), Turkish Television and CCTV/CGTN in Beijing. In 2018, he moved to 9News as a reporter, initially in Brisbane and then Melbourne, before receiving the call-up to 60 Minutes.

60 Minutes returns Sunday February 4.

Tipping Point

Australia’s newest game show, Tipping Point, launches Monday, January 29, at 5.00pm on Channel 9 and 9Now. Straight from his commentary duties, tennis legend Todd Woodbridge takes on a new challenge as host of Australia’s rendition of the famous game show that pushes contestants’ luck to the very edge.

With only the second ever Tipping Point machine in the world, Australia’s version of the game will see Todd test and tempt three lucky contestants on their quest to beat the mesmerising device.

Just like our UK counterpart, the Aussie game format comprises four rounds starting off with the Bank Builder round – the goal being to acquire a counter to play in the machine. Each counter is worth $100 and means a shot at the Tipping Point machine to bank money away.

Round 2 is called Quickfire, where contestants have 30 seconds to answer questions correctly for a counter. The contestant with the least money at the end of Round 2 will be eliminated from the game.

Scattered throughout the machine ledge are two mystery prize counters and two doubles counters for an extra chance to win big.

Two contestants move on to Round 3 and go head to head with two questions each. A correct answer earns a counter, but an incorrect answer means forfeiting a counter to your opponent. The person with the most money in the bank moves on.

One contestant will then make it to the final Jackpot round and get the chance to take home $20,000. All that’s standing in the way is five questions and Todd’s secret weapon: his Jackpot Temptation.

Jackpot Temptation comes into play if the contestant fails to knock the Jackpot counter over the ledge and win the $20,000, and what a temptation it is. Will Todd offer more counters? More money? A holiday or car? You’ll have to tune in to find out.

Tipping Point Australia screens 5pm weeknights from Monday, January 29.

  1. The whole thing is ridiculous, especially when you think about the fact euthanasia or voluntary assisted dying is a reality in most parts of Australia. Now that would be an interesting show that’d rate- the final journey, a factual based on those who’ve decided to take control of their exist and not live forever.

  2. Agree with others, this seems like an underwhelming ‘return’ to television for Tracey.
Hopefully the second project is designed to better highlight her exceptional interviewing talents and emphasise her standing as a network star. Could ITV Studios be preparing to produce “Tracey Grimshaw’s Life Stories” for Nine…?

    1. I agree that Tracy deserves a gig on 60 Minutes. However, if this is what Tracy wants to do, then her choice should be respected. I look forward to seeing how she does with this show.

  3. What a boring gig to give her. They need to offer her a show called “Tracey” and have her interviewing well known or interesting australians or host a panel show.

  4. Nick Coatsworth on the show so it’s a 100 💯 No from us

Tipping Point very 1st show $20k won plus the bonus $20k went as well 🤔, the shows changed format and the carry on by contestants from the brilliant UK version, is after watching that 1st show, a No from us.
