Airdate: 10 years of The Big Freeze

Seven special will mark 10 years of charity / sports event for FightMND.

Seven will screen 10 Years of The Big Freeze next Monday following The Big Freeze at the MCG earlier in the day for FightMND.

FightMND Co-founder and Patron Neale Daniher said: “Ten years is a milestone and it’s humbling to think back to when we started out with the original Big Freeze, and these great people who were brave enough to take on our crazy slide idea, that we really did not know or expect the wonderful support our event would receive from the amazing Australian public.

“I am thankful for that decade long community support, and the enthusiasm of all our sliders and partners – it is a blessing to still be around to see it all,” he said.

Head of Network Sport, Lewis Martin, said: “What Neale, Jan, Bec and the FightMND team have achieved over the past 10 years is nothing short of incredible.

“The names we have assembled have come armed with fantastic, never-before-heard stories about their experiences with the Big Freeze at the ‘G, stories that will have audiences in stitches.”

From epic costumes to hilarious belly flops, 10 Years of The Big Freeze will roll out the red carpet for a group of Australia’s biggest stars and most iconic sliders. It will go behind the scenes of the past decade in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND), with Neale Daniher, the man whose relentless determination and passion continues to inspire millions.

Led by 7NEWS Melbourne’s Tim Watson and Rebecca Maddern, alongside fellow slider, Garry Lyon, the special will showcase the most memorable moments from the past 10 years, featuring a star-studded lineup of sliders who have made The Big Freeze a uniquely entertaining spectacle, including Rhonda Burchmore, Luke Darcy, Chris Fagan, Samantha Lane, Sam Newman, Mark Robinson, Ross Stevenson and Brian Taylor.

Neale Daniher, the driving force behind FightMND, will share his reflections on the journey so far, the incredible support from the community, and his ongoing commitment to finding a cure for MND, alongside his daughter and FightMND Campaign Director, Bec, and his wife Jan.

9:15pm Monday, 10 June on Seven (Melb / Ade / Per) / 10:10pm Syd / Bris on Seven.

The Big Freeze at the ‘G will also return to Seven from 2.00pm on 10 June, including with tennis legend Pat Rafter..
