Seven’s first week of summer viewing is in, and as previously reported, it includes the premiere of Eli Stone, Holby Blue, the return of Ugly Betty, Dirty Sexy Money, Kath & Kim (US), Las Vegas, Dance Machine. The 24: Redemption telemovie will also air.
Both Ugly Betty and Eli Stone air twice weekly.
Seven also continues Heroes, Prison Break, The Amazing Race, The Rich List, The Unit, repeats of How I Met Your Mother, A Touch of Frost and Bones.
Both Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone have just been all but axed in the US.

Channel Seven is delighted to announce its red hot summer line-up featuring premiere overseas drama, audience favourite comedy and action-packed event TV.
Premiere series include quirky American legal drama, Eli Stone, which stars Jonny Lee Miller and features cameos from pop star George Michael; British police drama, Holby Blue, a spin-off of the successful Casualty and Holby City series; and Britannia High, a British musical drama which evokes comparisons to the hugely popular High School Musical trilogy and Fame.
For a bit of fun, Dance Machine is must-see TV, with ordinary people facing off in extraordinary dance-offs to rival anything you’ll witness at the office Christmas party.
New seasons of Las Vegas and a dirtier, sexier, Dirty Sexy Money, featuring new cast member Lucy Liu, will bring the sizzle to your Summer viewing.
In terms of event TV, it doesn’t get much bigger than 24: Redemption. Jack is back in the hotly-anticipated telemovie which provides a high-octane bridge between season six and 2009’s season seven.
The Amazing Race, Prison Break, Heroes, Scrubs and The Unit will all continue, joined by fresh episodes of returning favourites Ugly Betty, Hot Property, Outback Wildlife Rescue, Kath & Kim The American Series, The Rich List, Air Crash Investigations and Seven Wonders of the Industrial World.
Viewers can also catch up on their favourite episodes of hit comedy How I Met Your Mother when we take you back to the start of this much-loved series.
And it wouldn’t be Summer on Seven without Carols In The Domain. Kate Ritchie returns to co-host this year’s event which will celebrate it’s 26th year with the biggest line-up yet of Australia’s top voices.

It could just be me, but has anyone else noticed that Betty is not her usuall voluptuous self any more…. She seems about half her normal self.

Hooray for Jack Bauer back on telly. Redemption will go off tha richter scale to make way for season 7!!! “24” surely is the benchmark for the rest of television’s “tv shows” worldwide! God bless Jack Bauer….
Could it be true??, Mans Work is returning, after like a whole year off air, i wonder if channel 7 could start air the episodes in the correct order, or maybe that might be too much to ask??, well at least it is back on the air, for now..
missing Criminal Minds already (only 1 left this year). Bring on Feb 2009
Summer viewing is looking a hell of a lot better then the current crap options … these are all the shows that people actually love but supposedly don’t rate … prooves the rating wrong again …

Seven’s obviously got some fantastic shows, but here’s to hoping they’ll actually learn what to do with them. Changing time slots on an almost weekly basis (Heroes), pulling the show off the air and changing the day it’s aired on without advertising the changes (Prison Break), and insisting on airing horrific reality shows nobody actually watches (Amazing Race) at good time slots doesn’t give me much hope though.
And I can only scratch my head at the decision to air 24: Redemption on a friday night at a time slot when a large part of that show’s demographic won’t be anywhere near a television.
Lastly, please… please make Kath and Kim stop.
just saw 9,s promo for 09 and nothing mentioned bout the young doctors they should have let 10 have it as first proposed just over a year ago at least it may have had a chance of seeing the light of day but s,posse with the strip being axed it may still have a chance so c’mon nine get it in production and on air.

Hard part will be finding originals from the staggering amount of repeats – Bones why ??
I agree with the many comments on here that this lineup is the best. Seven have planned variety for everyone. Its nice to see a network not riddled with so many repeats, all the content here is fresh apart from a handful of shows, unlike bloody Nine and Ten who are overdosing on their CBS/NBC cop show repeats. Also great to have HIMYM in a weekly slot, far better than that 2.5 men rubbish.
Why has Amazing Race been pushed back to 9.30? That makes no sense since it’s been doing very well at 8.30.

This schedule is by far the best of the commercials. Ugly Betty twice a week is awesome.
Ali how can you say there are too many repeats. The only shows to repeat during the summer on Seven are A Touch Of Frost, Bones and How I Met Your Mother.
Prison Break twice a week is also great. I think i will be watching more TV this summer than i have ever watched. I mean with Gossip Girl S2 on Fox8, Fringe on 9 and Betty, Heroes, Prison Break, The Amazing Race, Dirty Sexy Money and 24: Redemption how can you not want to watch.
Only concern here is where is Reaper? This is the only show Seven have advertised heavily in February and still hasnt made an appearance.

Seven Ten and Nine’s summer sked’s are all just okay to me.
So much American stuff. I find it kind of disturbing just how many US shows there are and how few Australians productions.
@matthew -didn’t ten change their minds about macgyver, that is what david said, are you getting this from the advanced guides which have been outdated by changes or from somewhere else? did 10 change their minds again and decide to put it back on?
7’s line up is vastly better than 9 or 10, each of them only have 1 or 2 shows i’ll watch, but i’ll be on 7 all night every night pretty much.
What no new Family Guy?
Brittania High, the british tv show about music.. that is meant to get really bad ratings there.. even the UKs best girl band Girls Aloud.. an appearance from them did nothing … though I can’t wait to see it.. see if its really that bad lol.

happy about 24: redemption, but terrible timeslot choice indeed. i hope its given a better slot, when the new season kicks in.
its wise for them to put repeats of HIMYM, since its sevens only strong comedy show, however i do think a show such as 30 rock (which won 3 emmys) deserve a shot of primetime.
I think scrubs deserves to be in the 7pm timeslot

what r you talkin about, this is the best summer schedule by far, what good does nine and ten have to offer? They have had to dig to the bottom of the barrel to try and get decent shows, with a pretty poor result. Seven offers a complete variety of shows all in good proportion and quality

I think this seven schedule is the best of the bunch. They have betty, eli stone, Holby blue, and surprised to see dirty sexy money return now i was expecting it in a 10:30pm in february. Glad betty is back twice a week i am tipping this to be the number 1 show of the summer it got 1m viewers against state of origin and then it was put in the worst timeslot of the week thursday 9:30pm. It is definately the best show on over summer. The only disappointment is 9:30pm friday night for 24: Redemption, if it were 8:30pm i wouldnt mind. The other is the amazing race is at 9:30pm. I also wont be watching Eli Stone i have seen a few eps and hate it. Overall it is the best schedule of the three.
