Some interesting decisions. New Simpsons and Medium on a Friday night? House at 9pm instead of its traditional 8:30pm. An “encore” of Life on Mars. Fastracked Lie to Me.

But for a network that has been notorious for programming changes in the last few months it’s good to see it reveal its hand with confidence and clarity.

Can it stick to its guns once Nine and Seven reveal their plans?

Your thoughts?

  1. It’s a strong line-up in that there are very few gaps in the schedule.
Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday look solid. Monday is okay, Wednesday looks weaker. And Friday is a gamble.

You can see that they’re trying to start a friday night revival…hopefully it pays off for them…because Medium is one of my favourite shows and I’d hate to see it die. You’d think there would be an audience up against the football though. 800K would be a success.

Like everyone else though, my concern is with the months of July & August. Masterchef should be a mini-hit, they’ll still have Rove, GNW, Rush, US Dance, some sitcoms, but what US dramas will they have?

  2. Good to see on Rove in early Feb instead of April starts as in previousl years.
I wander what will happen to Dr Phil now that Ten has scheduled the doctors in his slot,he is good daytime viewing?

  3. Futurama Season 6? I must’ve missed season 5. Since the 4th season ended, there has only been 3 movies, which have been split to 4 episodes each.

  4. According to Ten News Tonight AJ will continue to host The Biggest Loser in 2009!
David any word on when new episodes of Numb3rs will return to our screens this year?
Also are new episodes of Ready Steady Cook scheduled this year and if so do you know when and who will host it?

  5. Wow, at least I do not have to look at the TEN guide for awhile to see if there is anything worth watching.
There is nothing there worth watching.

So You Think You Can Dance?? What utter crap, a bunch of under rated people who cannot get a real job prancing around like they have some sort of fit or disease.
The Biggest Loser – must be a show about CH 10
Rove – another copy of Letterman etc, boring
Lie To me – is this a show about CH 10 telling us that they have a great line up?
Simpsons – way way past its use by date.
Neighbours – oh my, more boring drivel with overrated boring actors and scripts.
Guerrilla Gardeners – would be good if they used real Guerrilla’s
Dexter – was he the little robot on one of the dating shows years ago?
Orange Roughies – a story about oranges that have been in a fight on the way to the greengrocer.
Good News Week – Is this where CH Ten announce they are going out of business?

  6. great lineup for ten! good to see medium back! and i think fridays could become a big day like sunday has become. its great to see something good to watch on a friday! fridays suk, there is shit all on. i would have rathered lie to me to be put on wed 9,30 and have 2 ncis epsi thnk dance and biggest loser wil grow in ratings like it did last yr. ten is my network for 09

  7. It looks like a good lineup. Much better than the second half of last year and summer when there were almost more repeats then new episodes.

Good for TEN to release three weeks this early as well – hope Seven and Nine release their plans as well soon.

  8. Good to see new shows and new episodes of shows coming back.
    But I think:
    – Too reliant on Biggest Loser (saturation much)
    – Medium won’t last on Fridays, but double Law&Orders would be better move
    – House back on Wed 8.30(9.00)?? Weren’t they looking at the same ratings last year as everyone else – time for a timeslot change… perhaps swap House 9.30 Tue, Life on Mars 8.30 Wed(why promo a 9.30 show so much?), Lie to Me 9.30 Thu.
    – Dexter has better slot than last year, but will people watch it? (been on Pay, and out on DVD for some time…)
But we wont really know til those figures come in….
But Good Luck to Ten, lets hope its a better year than 08 🙂

  9. Just thought ppl ought to know, Cleveland’s been pushed back til late September 2009 on FOX so it won’t be part of Ten’s lineup for at least another 9 months. They also have RoE and Worst Week as a double comedy lineup, seeing as RoE’s third season doesn’t come back in the US until March I wouldn’t expect them both to air until at least April, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Ten held them over until mid year. At least then they’ll get better treatment than RoE and BtY did when they were a duo last year when they were constantly bumped for stupid crap like Big Brother specials and Oprah interviewing the fad of the week

  10. Ok, Rush wasnt that bad at ratings. For a 9.30 timeslot – its numbers were strong and consistent. It will be interesting to see what Masterchef brings to our TV Screens.. Im going to watch it, mainly because its replacing BB and I loved the show.

Strong line up. Good to see The Devil Wears Prada on the first Monday! Love that movie! Will be watching Neighbours, NCIS, Biggest Loser and So You Think You Can Dance. May give Life On Mars a chance too.

  11. Keep AFL on in NSW, otherwise an over repeated movie is all you’ll get.

Ten, try poaching the SBS and Ch4 head of programming – I mean a vet on Bondi? Why not call it Baywatch Vet and follwo it with 90210 (both old and new school versions).

  12. well looks like a solid lineup for the next few months…but after that TEN really dont have too much. Rush, CI, Supernatural, Merlin, Masterchef, Cleeveland…not that great for ratings.

i know i’ll be watching dexter, house, life on mars and watch biggest loser and sytycd in between. Cant say that there are many other shows to watch on seven or nine apart from underbelly ( which probably wont be that great) and how i met your mother.

  13. Any advanced schedule being published like this should come with a guarantee that they will stick to it. Interesting Friday night, I agree – but hopefully that may help improve the usual quality of Friday night TV elsewhere.

  14. A fairly predictable schedule – The biggest Loser is a very boring show that really has you asking the question what the real motivator is for these people losing weight – is it money, fame or their actual health? And why the media scrum today chasing host AJ ‘whatever her name is’ over fraud allegations – most people wouldn’t know her if they fell over her yet the media pack today was equivalent to that seen when Nicole Kidman attended court last year. It just seemed so unnecessary – are we that starved of news that we send every reporter out there to cover such a minor story. Predictably she ended up getting off, without a conviction presumeably so she can get back to hosting the loser program!

  15. Seems like a really good lineup except:
-Don’t like where Bondi Vet is, won’t rate well like saving babies.
-All new Simpsons on a friday? Hrmm..
-Australia’s over house, move him to another timeslot/day already.

  16. I actually like the look of the line up. I’m glad we get to see season 2 of Dexter earlier than i expected but why Monday 9:30? If that’s on then where is Supernatural going to go? (It better not get canceled) or does this mean we just wont have it until after Dexter? And also I’m glad to see Out Of The Blue got a secure time slot (Its not the best show and the acting isn’t all that great but for some reason i just want to see where its going)
But all in all i think its going to be a good first few months of ratings season for TEN (as long as this schedule doesn’t change over the next few weeks)
