Gone: Christine, CSI: NY, Returning: Kitchen Nightmares, Commercial Breakdown

Nine has responded, as we knew they all would, to it's under-performing Tuesday night line up. But don't get excited.

ramsayNine has responded, as we knew they all would, to it’s under-performing Tuesday night line up which this week saw its share dip to just 18.9%.

But its replacement programmes don’t look much better.

This week the line-up was:

7:30 Two and a Half Men rpt
8:00 The New Adventures of Old Christine
8:30 20 to 1
9:30 CSI: New York

Next Tuesday it now plans:

7:30 20 to 1
8:30 Two and a Half Men
9:00 Two and a Half Men
9:30 Commercial Breakdown Adults Only
10:15 Kitchen Nightmares: USA

Christine is now out of schedule on Nine (though it is coming to GO!) while new eps of CSI: NY are out.

Hosting the “naughtiest and sexiest commercials” is Dermott Brereton with Gyton Grantley as a guest.

It will be interesting to see how Ramsay performs since his public admonishing. Kitchen Nightmares: USA is episode 12 of S2 “Cafe 36” from January. Another will air a week later, but Nine looks like running out of fresh eps from there.

Meanwhile still no change for Australia’s Perfect Couple, which had just as poor figures, but more network ker-ching invested.

  1. @Craig: Couldn’t agree more- I got burnt by Nine when they dummped Trouble In Paradise, the only regular show I watch (or had planned to watch) on channel 9.

  2. Why should anyone invest their time in shows that keep getting dumped after just one week?

Nothing in the new Tuesday night line-up interests me and it will probably change again next week anyway.

  3. Cgristine and CSI new York I might have watched..the upcoming weeks schedule has Notihing that interests me.
Commercial breakdown they can every 2 weeks, Men is overexposed,20-1 is just tripe and Ramsay is just crass.
David, please tell me the next headline will be –
Gone : Nine’s programming department in full
    In : Commonsense

  4. Doesn’t matter what they put on, the ratings will slump as, yet again, these changes are too late for printed guides. CSI:NY will rate OK if people know when it is on.

They need to promote the crap out of this line up for people to know these shows are on, as noone will know what is going on. And the majority of people who watch TV are not finding out their TV info from web sites like this.

Another flop Tuesday coming up. Another knee jerk change on Friday for the following week. More inaccurate TV guides everywhere. Ever heard of building an audience???

  5. Ditto on the comments re Nine completing ruining any chance of building any viewer loyalty with all the chop and change. I’m a big CSI: NY fan and loved seeing the new episodes. For starters it was a late change so many didn’t realise it was on – thankfully I had looked online and not at the TV Guide. Secondly I am almost one who still watches for new episodes amongst all the repeats, time changes, on/off and doesn’t view by other means…although I am leaning towards DVDs so I can start watching the entire series without interruptions.
And Nine wonders why no one watches.
Oh well it will be back to All Saints if there’s no CSI: NY for me becuase that line up is terrible.

  6. Did they for a second think that the reason nobody watched is because nobody knew what the line-up was because of the late notice to TV guides? They will have the exact same problem next Tuesday for the exact same reason. Morons.

  7. i watched all those shows last week(except men) but with the new schedule the only show i will be watching is 20-1, why cant nine get their head around the fact that constantly changing the line-up somethings several week in a row destroys viewer loyalty, at Christine and csi ny will be on go though,@ zhane your spot one, maybe nine should do some rearranging of there programming department.

  8. “New adventures of old Christine” has been dumped again. Channel 9 should hang their heads in shame. How can shows build audiences when shows air for a week and are dumped. If this happens on the HD channels people will switch to Foxtel in droves. I thank god I already have!!!!!

    1. The irony is, and Nine knows this full well, it once ripped 2.5 Men off air after one episode because it didn’t work. Then it eventually left it on over summer and hello…Frasier had always languished in the schedule until it too was left over summer and became a hit. Probably the show they will bring back when 2.5 Men eventually rests. So Christine and TBBT are others that might build if they were left alone.

  9. I find Ironic that Nine have “Proudly Australian” as their current slogan.. because their treatment of tv viewers is anything but australian.

  10. They keep chopping and changing things all the time over at Channel Nine.

Why not some good home grown family friendly comedies instead of having to rely on importing in US programming.

It is like the Channel Nine I remember for Sale of the Century,Humphrey B Bear,Hi5,Looney Tunes Cartoons and the Channel Niners later known as C’Mon Kids when Kerry Packer was alive is now the Footy Show,CSI,20 to 1 and 2.5 Men Channel.

  11. Can the Programming Department from Channel Nine please share the compromising pictures of their executives that they surely must have in their possession? How else can we explain the fact that they all still have their extremely high-paid jobs?
I see a once proud network brought to it’s knees by ceaseless upheaval of programs and time-slot changes. Their actions have cost Nine it’s viewer loyalty and credibility, which were worth more than money could ever buy.

Sorry to be so serious, but if they share the pics maybe we could all have a good laugh.

  12. This is why this network is a joke. They may as well just axe every show they’re airing and universally replace it all with 2.5 Men and 20 to 1. Along with similar crap like Farmer Wants a Wife and Australia’s Perfect Couple. Funny how last year Ramsay was the network’s saving grace and now he’s being used as 10.15pm filler. As for Commercial Breakdown, its nothing but a dumbed-down Australia’s Funniest Home Video attempt at the Gruen Transfer.

  13. all i can say is another tuesday, another new schedule from nine. I shall expect the same aritcel to appear next week when this line up tanks equally as bad and they replace it with something next week. i think 20 – 1 proved last week it cant handel comp and if they think moving it from 8.30 – 7.30 there wrong. ten does 1.6mil as does 7 with there factuals = about 3.2mil ppl watching the 2 networks at 7.30. While over at 8.30 rafters does 1.9 and NCIS repeats do 1mil = 2.9mil watching the 2 networks at 8.30. Personally I think they gave it an even harder job. and 2.5 men will collapes from being moved again on tuesday.

  14. I think it’s about time now that Ch 9 should sack their tv schedule programmers, & hire people that can do the job properly!!.

Dosen’t Ch 9 know that both excess screenings of “2 & Half Men” & “Commercial Breakdown” didn’t rate very well months ago, & yet they continue to show them!!..

CH 9’s programmers are treating their shows like acrobats, they keep changing their positions – here in one postion, gone the next time.

i’m fed up about how they’re mistreating the new eps of “CSI Miami & NY”. It’s causing other fans & I to resort to buying the “Csi Miami s7” & “Csi NY s5” boxsets via amazon.com, as we’ll be able to watch the new eps without any problems .

  15. Everytime I see the headline “Gone:” it always has to do with channel 9, every single time. I didn’t watch any of those shows, but im sure a lot of people did, and will be annoyed at nine.
Heres hoping that Go99 (aka 9 Guide) will be the place for future shows that “under perform”

  16. I really do not know how Nine expect to build an audience on this night if the lineup is changing every week. This is now the 4th time its changed in 4 weeks, its absolutely ridiculous; I understand they need to build, but viewers are simply tuning out because they don’t know what they’re tuning into. Nine are lost for clues.
