  1. Channel 9 you are disgusting.
“What really happened” is full of lies, and is not appropriate to air before showing an memorial for someone!
Will be watching Channel 7’s live broadcast from Fed Square.

  2. Shane, Sunrise is in HD as it’s produced locally. For the MJ thing to be seen in HD here, a network would have to bring in an HD feed. Ten would probably have done so if only they still had an HD channel. Going by the Obama coverage, Seven and Nine probably won’t bother with HD despite the source being guaranteed to be HD.

  3. Gerrard, I refer to events such as the Gallipoli Dawn Service where Nine had to plaster the picture with their “9” logo, “Live” caption, “Gallipoli Dawn Service” caption and an AIF logo for the duration of the telecast. All unnecessary and distracting…so I switched to the cleaner ABC picture. Nine’s been watching CNN too much.

  4. For God’s sake would Ch9 cut that pathetic ‘What really happened) off? It’s just disgusting and pathetic to show it hours before the memorial! The documentary is full of lies!

  5. commercial free for 7. yeah right. that wont happen and that is absolute given. kochie will his usual un funny jokes about michael jackson for joke of the day. 9 will stuff their’s up just as bad

  6. Channel 9 shouldn’t be repeating their special on MJ, even so i didnt watch it, by the comments on this site it was lucky i missed it. Also its guess it will be on all tv news channels, FOX News, CNN International, BBC News, and Sky news with sky news UK coverage i guess, also its very good to see E! will also have it live.
Do you know which ones will be in HD, is sunrise in HD?

i just wish we could get FOX News & E! in HD on FOXTEL.

  7. @ Kenny,

Actually, Seven has way more on-screen graphics than Nine. Seven’s Sunrise has the scroll at the bottom of the screen, while Nine got rid of theirs last year.

  8. What is Nine’s problem? Have they still not viewed this ‘What really happened?’ special which should be re-titled ‘What never happened’? How can they think it is approriate to re-air this junk? It is quite old, not truthful at all, very one sided filled with lies, and does not have any respectful things in it whatsoever.

  9. @ leon another article on this site says how channel ten failed to provide captioning in it coverage of the obama inauguration, this is a good example of why multiple channel coverage of a major event is a good thing, if only one network broadcast the inauguration like you propose all those who are hearing in paired would have missed out if that sole network turned out to be TEN.

  10. @ellis although it doesn’t appear in the epg i saw an ad for cnn coverage’s, it would also be safe to assume that bbcnews, foxnews , and sky news(probably a simulcast of skynews uk) will air it as well.

  11. @leon so what do you suggest, just one channel so it other wise it’s shameful? if they did you would complain that the other channels didn’t even show it, this is a major event that people have great interest in and giving people the option to view it on there preferred channel is a good thing.

  12. I like it if there is some local input, didn’t like how TEN just used the CBS coverage with Katie Couric.

I’ll set the PVR but not getting up at 3am for this, sorry MJ.

  13. great.. Ch7 & Ch9 battle for Memorial Ratings.. How pathetic can these FTA channels get. Battle each other over everything.. now a memorial.. Shame!

  14. I agree, Dr Rudi. Nine will plaster the pictures with their 9 logo, “live” and all of the other unneccessary garbage as they usually do. Hopefully TEN, SBS or ABC will have it, so it can be watched with cleaner pictures.

  15. Why can’t Australian television just take a US feed and leave it at that ? No one in that list will offer an additional insight – with the possible exception of Molly if he has taken up the invitation to the service.

  16. Nine just announced a Today edition from 3am

Georgie Gardiner supposedly hadn’t been told and looked quite surprised when Karl announced it!
