Letterman upgraded
Woohoo. TEN sees sense with David Letterman and moves it back to a decent timeslot in December. Plus other summer changes....

TEN has seen sense on Letterman.
It’s now moved it back to follow on from the late night run of The 7PM Project.
From Monday November 30 the rule of thumb will now be:
TEN Late News with Sports Tonight
The 7PM Project rpt
The Late Show with David Letterman.
Those replays of show like Medium, Numb3rs, Law & Order: CI etc will now follow Letterman. The downside is Nurse Jackie geta a 1:00am slot. Can’t have it all I guess…
There are other changes too:
Wed Dec 2:
8pm The Simpsons now replaced with Futurama.
10:05pm Californication replaced with Little Britain USA.
This would seem to be a move to accommodate 7PM repeat at a consistent hour. Hopefully it’s still on the cards for summer.
Thu Dec 3
7:30pm Rules of Engagagement is now out replaced by Accidentally on Purpose.

How do you get the job of a tv programmer, the ones we have at the moment have no clue of how to set schedules.
Ten released their Summer schedule very early, and were obviously still tweaking it. At least it’s better than all the TBAs Seven have on their schedule, and the few shows they did release that were scheduled in primetime, they’ve now dropped and replaced with…you guessed it…TBA.
Late program changes have always happened, it’s just that since the internet and sites like these they are advised instantly, whereas years ago the newspaper was the only place to see them.
Nurse Jackie at 1am :(. Just have to tivo it then.
Thank you channel 10 for keeping Letterman at a watchable time. Now how about you do the same for Nurse Jackie? First run programming must be preferable to repeats. I know that The Simpsons are popular over and over and over and over again. The 7PM Project is no Simpsons and never will be so just show it once.
Either way I’ll still be watching Letterman the next day 11:45 is a little late for most, but at least he’s better that Sunrise LOL
So now word yet about 90210 or Melrose, guess TEN are saving them for TEN2 ?
why dont they just scrap the idea of having repeats of the 7pm project from earlier in the night.that’s the best solution by a country mile
So will Futurama be sandwiched between Simpsons and Cleveland then? If so, a good move, and I hope it works well for them.
I’ve never watched Nurse Jackie, but 1am is a dreadful timeslot; and with Ten changing its timeslot as often as they have, I haven’t bothered watching the series at all and I’d rather wait for the DVDs if the feedback about the show remains strong. Ten should have endeavoured to give it a better timeslot during the summer period so it could build an audience, or better yet, re-air it from the beginning so that the audience are given a chance to actually follow the show.
And what’s the haps with Californication? The second season repeats have been rating rather well for Ten. Hell, they’re currently rating higher than they were throughout their first run (back when they were airing at around 11pm-12am). Is this indicative of Ten giving it a more prolific timeslot?
They should put Ellen Degeneres back on against Letterman. Ellen was often Beating Letterman in the late night time slot and certainly beating Letterman in the younger demographics. My 50 yaer old brother preferred Ellen over Letterman and he is Lettermans target audience. Late night has Nothing for women as not many women like Letterman.
@ Stephen H… I don’t really see the problem with changing a schedule 2-3 weeks out from it’s air date.
Especially not when each network is releasing their new Summer schedule… some people are just whingers

ten should put on guerrilla gardners during summer. im looking forward to repeats of bondi vet which was a great show, ten should also replay recruits.
Who knew Letterman had so many fans!
I hate his show (and him) with a passion, the second I hear that intro music my tv goes to another channel – even the black screen of death is better viewing!!
Any mention of when Guerrilla Garderners or Bondi vet is going to return?

Why is it Australain television programmers are incapable of sticking to a set schedule. I don’t remember having all of these changes 5 years or more ago.

Ten like to annoy people over summer. Thinking about that Bold and the Beautiful/Simpsons experiment they pulled last year still makes me twitch.
At least its a bit better now.
The late night repeat didn’t seem to work for Hot Seat, so I can’t see it working for 7PM either.
Nurse Jackie at 1am? Nooooo Get with the programme guys. This is the best show on TV. Thank god for my TiVO.

Rule of thumb so far… 9:30 Tuesdays will be where you should be looking.
Ridiculous that they named the show the 7pm Project when repeats screened at 3.30pm and now at 11pm.
sounds good – not ideal, but it’s better than waiting until 12:45am-ish
