Voting is now open on the annual TV Tonight Awards -your pick for the best, the worst and the rest in television in 2009.

Once again categories include Drama, Comedy, Light Entertainment, Talk, News/Current Affairs, Reality, Network, Pay TV channel, Story of the Year, Most Underrated, Worst Show, Most Overexposed and much more…

Shows that are eligible must be first-run screened on Australian TV in the calendar year 2009.

and here is a selection of the year’s best and worst in a Critic’s Choice round-up conducted recently by TV Tonight.

There are several categories for International television.

Voting will continue until Monday December 28th with the winners (and some losers) to be announced the first week in January.

  1. Dexter and HIMYM took best international drama/comedy for me, although I barely watch any TV these days. Vampire Diaries is also good. Recently also finished the first season of Breaking Bad, compelling stuff.

    I forgot all about putting The Chaser as best Australian comedy. The Gruen Transfer was good though.

  2. I hope all mine are valid. Sorry if they arent, I wasnt sure about some of the categories because I dont watch shows from them but I filled it all out. Looking forward to seeing the result for Best International Show – Carn NCIS!

    and i hope TVburp gets some recognition in australian comedy.

    my favourite awards are the worst male/female. something tells me there will be a lot of eyes on it. and there is some tight competition.
