Charlie Sheen signs for 2 more years of 2.5 Men

It was all just bluff after all, as Charlie Sheen signs on for two more years of his sitcom with a salary boost.

Charlie Sheen has signed on for two more years of Two and a Half Men.

“To put a fitting end on the two and one-half months of whirlwind speculation, I’m looking forward to returning to my CBS home on Monday nights. I want to thank Les Moonves for his support,” Sheen has said.

This ends speculation Sheen would walk away from the show, a ploy largely dismissed as contract negotiation.

Sheen had reportedly been hedging for $2 million an episode. Warner Bros. initially offered substantially less than half that amount claims TMZ , but the figure has since gone up considerably.

Sheen, who is still facing court action over his December incident with Brooke Mueller, was previously on $900,000 an episode.

CBS is expected to announce the return of the show this week. Nine is rumoured to be popping champers…..

  1. No wonder 7 are doing rather well by default with Home and Away.I know the acting there isn’t as good as a teen drama produced by America or Canada but given a choice between that or a Charlie Sheen Rerun It is a no brainer to see what most of us choose.

  2. Isn’t it amazing how everyone bags this show – yet incrediby according to the ratings one in about 20 people in the entire country watch it.
I’m guessing there’s a lot of fibbers and hypocrits around.
I’m with you Bogan Pride, I love this show and it is funny. Much better than the reality crap the networks serve up. How anyone can find rubbish like Surivovor, Aust Idol, Beauty and the Geek and the like entertaining is beyond any intelligent person can fathom. Or perhaps all you critics think TodayTonight, ACA or Home And Away is more worthy of praise?
As for MasterChef, what a load of bollocks that show is. If you want to sit around watching people cook, come around to my place around 6pm each night and you can help me wash up when I’m finished. Utlimately that’s all you’re doing – watching someone cook a meal for some guy who thinks everyone eats shrimp, truffles and filet mignon for dinner every night.

  3. Yes steve, we bogans love 2.5 men. And i’m glad you appreciate, how it keeps all of us bogans off of the streets. And just like you’re thankful in that way. So are we thankful for master chef.. It keeps our side walks clear of wowsers sitting out side their local cafes giving a 200 word critic on their strawberry crepes.

  4. In what alternative universe is Sheen funny??

Nasty man on a nasty show!

Interesting exercise is to ask the people at work who likes the show.
Good exercise to pick out those with lack of empathy for others.

  5. Wow, this nothing of a story has paid off big time for David, look at all the heated comments!
Dear fellow non-bogans, let’s face it, 2.5men is the perfect Channel 9 show – look at its equally highbrow stablemates HeyHey & Underguts! And if these shows weren’t on then there would be 1.5 million+ bogans wandering the streets with time on their hands.
    Win win scenario really.

  6. My question to all the people who say that 2.5 men is a bogan only show, and that they can’t stand watching it. Is, why watch it? We bogans might be a simple bunch. But at least we have the good sence to turn the channel when a show we don’t like comes on.

  7. Good to hear i like the show..
I just wish 9 wouldn’t air the show so much & with Arena doing the same on Foxtel it’s annoying to a lot of people.
Just air the new eps Monday nights & that will do.

  8. As pivotal as Two and a Half Men is to CBS and WB, I doubt they paid $2m per episode for Charlie Sheen, 1.5, maybe 1.7 sounds more realistic, stars of Raymond, Friends, Frasier and Seinfeld were all top 10 shows for the majority of their runs, some top 5, yet the highest paid actor out of any of those sitcoms was Ray Romano with 1.8m per episode.

Two and half Men has never broken the top 10… okay you can argue it has been d-blocked by 2 installments of Idol and 2 installments of Dancing, 2 installments of CSI and NCIS, every year since it’s start, and it’s stil the worlds number 1 comedy, but CBS isn’t that stupid to roll $7m per episode or so to produce a new Two and a Half Men, regardless of how much it reruns.

@ all the Two and a Half Men haters, what do you watch…? If you say MasterChef or Idol or whatever, then you don’t deserve an opinion…. to anyone who doesn’t watch reality… do you watch “proper” sitcoms, do you watch Seinfeld, Cosby Show, Frasier, right back to I Love Lucy…? I didn’t think so… and don’t tell me Big Bang Theory is a sitcom, it’s essentially the same thing as Two and a Half Men, they just use the language that a stereotyped nerd would use…
