Seven has picked up a number of classic titles from BBC Worldwide to air on 7TWO.
They include comedy, drama, food and lifestyle titles, including Keeping up Appearances, Are you Being Served?, The Good Life, To the Manor Born, Jonathan Creek, All Creatures Great and Small, Born and Bred, Bargain Hunt, The Hairy Bikers Cookbook and James Martin’s Favourite Feasts.
“This will further strengthen 7TWO’s position in the digital channel market into 2011 and beyond as we continue to fine-tune the programming with a consistent line-up of lifestyle, classic British comedy, quality British drama and highly acclaimed feature films,” said Seven & 7TWO Programming Consultant John Stephens.
The titles tally over 500 hours of content.

David, I emailed UKTV and they said that Keeping Up Appearances has been licenced to another channel, and they no longer have the rights to it. Would this channel happen to be 7TWO? If it is, I thought FTA channels’ licencing of programmes doesn’t effect the pay tv ones.
Don’t forget The Night Stalker.
Oh yeah @ woody they were the days I remember Freddy’s Nightmares and Thriller too, as well as The Outer Limits. Ten had Alfred Hitchcock Presents (which was later shown on Nine) and Monsters. Nine had The Twilight Zone. There’s also other little gems that I’ve never seen on TV before; Night Gallery, Darkroom, Hammer House Of Horror, Tales From The Crypt, Tales From The Darkside, The Hitchhiker, Tales Of The Unexpected and a little known Australian one from 1973 called The Evil Touch.
They really should show these.
How about
Father Dear Father
The Dick Emery Show
On The Buses (currently on Comedy)
Doctor in Charge, et a (sometimes on Comedy)
Mind Your Language (sometimes on Comedy)
The Dave Allen Show
Love Thy Neighbour
Thriller is definitely worth a rerun or 5 .
If they could start the reruns on Halloween night.
Something from 1973 can rate higher than something from 2010.
Sounds good for the most part and I agree, it would be great to see Thriller again.
I remember when 7 reran Thriller in the 90’s when I was 15 I would stay up late to watch Freddy’s Nightmares, The Nightmare on Elm St show and sometimes Thriller was on afterwards.
Would like to see Robin’s Nest added to that list. Hasn’t aired since it’s original run, and completes the trilogy with Man About The House and G&M.
For those with ESPN, whenever I hear Tommy Smyth commentating, I can’t help thinking that it’s Albert Riddle who’s commentating. 🙂
@ Regan not everyone likes this new stuff, that’s why if you’ve noticed most of it flops and is yanked off the schedule within weeks because nobody is watching it. Agree with everyone that has said some new old stuff should be put on, especially Australian classics, they don’t make TV like that anymore.
Yeah, nothing strengthens a channel’s position in the digital channel market like 40 year-old reruns.
@ Billy funnily enough how you mentioned the 1973-1976 British series Thriller, was just about to say the same thing, they really should should dust up that little gem, put it on a decent timeslot and show people what they have been missing. I also vaguely remember it being shown by Ch 7 really late at night and that eerie feeling to it. They really should show it!
Thriller… wow that takes me back.
Keeping Up Appearances? Awesome!
“Is the euthanasia legislation taking too long to pass through parliament? Watch 7two while you wait”.
Oh my lord. It’s my childhood all over again, when every time you turned around they were repeating ‘The Good Life’ again. Nooooooooo. All that’s missing is To the Manor Born….hang on i just re-read, To the Manor Born’s there too. Yes it is officially the 80s again.
I love Birds of A Feather and You Rang M’Lord ? .I wish these could be on 7TWO.
I love All My Children (there are British characters in that too).
I have seen Keeping up appearances so many times , maybe its time to see it again !!
and my favourite British show Channel 7 has ever screened is the Thriller series that went from 1973 to 1976 and there were 3am reruns which I used to tape overnight. They were fantastic !!
and since 7TWO is boosting up british shows then please give us classic Top of the pops episodes too !!
I’m surprised 7 didn’t pick up the Antiques Roadshow library to go with Bargain Hunt.
Its good to see more british shows instead of being dished up with more american stuff. I like watching 7 TWO.
Vinny…. The ratings for both AMC and Martha are pretty low. Unfortunately I think their days could be numbered.
@Bella – I’m sure that Martha and All My Children and the soaps are here to stay.
Thanks to Craig(Buzz) for clearing that up!! No further correspondence may be entered in to this discussion folks – digital was created to screen reruns of shows mums enjoy. A Penelope Keith-athon is in the air.
steven guy …… Lost in Space airs on Fox Classics
