Just when you thought we were all done and dusted with major programming changes until the end of the ratings year….
TEN has a number of sweeping changes to its schedule in the week of November 14 (the second last week of the survey year).
They are as follows:
Sun Nov 14
6:30pm Modern Family (rpt)
7:00pm Modern Family
7:30pm Junior MasterChef (90 mins)
9:00pm Offspring
Mon Nov 15
7:30pm Junior MasterChef (Final)
9:30pm Undercover Boss Australia
10:30pm TEN Late News
Tue Nov 16
9:30pm Good News Week
Wed Nov 17
7:30pm Modern Family (New night)
8:00pm Raising Hope (Premiere)
Thu Nov 18
7:30pm Bondi Vet (Final)
Fri Nov 19
7:30pm The All New Simpsons Hour
This leaves question marks over the future for Glee.
A premiere of a new comedy with just two weeks to go? Raising Hope may well be summer fare and is being bedded in.
Giving Modern Family a third night (from Tuesdays to Sundays to Wednesdays) is disappointing. Especially if it’s pausing with the end of ratings.

Ten know how to kill their best performing shows. Just move them all around the schedule.
The Stupidest Thing Ten ever did was to not even that Cleveland Show a fair chance.I liked the fact it provided viewers with some comedy after Good News Week and before the late News. Then they had Glee and Cops Who wants either to start the week upon.
By Ten premiering Raising Hope … it makes me wonder if they are continuing it into summer perhaps ?
Exactely why I do not get excited over any shows …anymore….not matter how good they are…..the powers that be, move them around….change times and days….take them off…put them back on…..just all too hard these days…..
Years ago…you could set your watch by what was on the TV….they were on a regular day…at a regular time…..you knew what night The Sullivans were on and you had the same news reader….Brian Henderson….Roger Climpson……I know most of you are probably too young to remember….
There is not time now for a show to build a devoted following….I suppose one good example would be Packed to the Rafters….it has stayed in the one spot and rates through the roof.
@Kaylen where have you been, I can name 3 relatively recent shows off the top of my head that were axed within weeks of starting on TEN, 90210, Psych and SGU.
@tomothy – I doubt TEN will stick one of it’s top shows (Glee) on ELEVEN, although they might consider showing re-runs or encore eps each week over there.
Currently we are now 1 ep behind the US, with 2.06 not airing until Nov 9 in the US.
Why did they move Glee? Idiots. It was rating well – no logic in that decision whatsoever.
Re Modern Family: twice in the week of Nov 14. Don’t presume anything about Nov 21 yet.
Apparently Raising Hope is meant to be a ‘sneak peak’ where they air the pilot before it launches in February.
I’m suprised to see Ten airing new episodes of The Simpsons, before it moves to Eleven next year.
Ten should keep screening their shows on the same night throughout the year. They seem to currently just juggle them around and hope for the best. What happened to the plan to have All New Simpsons exclusive to 11?
so Modern Family is going to be on Sunday and Wednesday?? Isn’t that spreading it a bit thin given it’s only just started its second series? There’s only so many episodes to go around.
Ten’s programming strategy is beginning to match that of Nine/GO/GEM, just take a show that is a bit popular and throw it around the schedule. And what’s the point of holding back Glee? It rated well on Wednesday night didn’t it? Now by delaying it, it’s only going to leave fans to source it by other means.
and after all that the only show that did need to move, the good wife, looks like it is staying there.
Glee must be one of the most screwed with shows on tv (ignoring GO!) a few episodes into season 2 and its already gone Thurs 7:30> Sun 7:30> Thurs various timeslots after masterchef where it was taken off for a footy match and hamish and andy specials, then to Wednesdays for 2 episodes before the comm games back for 4 episodes and its gone again. and modern family isn’t much different.
Glee’s going back to Sunday’s, remember last year
What an absolute schmozzle, stuff like Modern Family is easy, set and forget, you don’t go bastardising it around the schedule 🙁
David – is there a new ep of Glee meant to air? Or is this because of a US break? If there is a new ep available- what the hell? The ratings were fine I thought…
Too many changes to confuse the viewer, especially when it is only for two weeks.
I think they might want to hold off on Glee for ELEVEN so they have less breaks when the US commences theirs.
The Simpsons on Fridays was a bad decision a couple of years ago, why do it again.
So does Modern Family continue the following Sunday or is Wednesday only?
It’s quite confusing about the situation with Glee. According to The Futon Critic, there are new episodes in the US on November 16 and 23 as well as the Christmas-themed episode on December 7, but November 30 is TBA. Another website says that Glee is off in the US on November 16 for one week. I think Ten is waiting for confirmation from Fox network in the US on Glee scheduling before deciding whether to continue the series.
ooohh how many ways can people respond to say “stuuupppiiddd!”?
What the? Glee has its’ following, and has consistently been doing over the 1m mark as far as I remember.
Even though I don’t watch it, but so has Modern Family. Why all the changes, a number of which don’t make sense?
This is so confusing. I thought Channel TEN usually stuck with their programmes? 🙁
Glee is not on in the first or 2nd week of Nov in the USA so maybe that is why it is off in Aust that week?
Glee constantly makes FTA Top 10 on Ch10 why the hell would you change the day/time for it? Heads are starting to roll at Ch10 but apparently not the monkeys who work at at the programming department at Ch10!
You have to wonder if the networks (not just TEN) are really trying to kill off some shows that rate well. That said I do think MF mid week is much better than Sundays and of course come the end of the ratings MF will go into re-runs, or be removed.
If Ten are holding back Glee because they think it will rate better come ratings season next year I think they’re wrong.
Glee will perform best when fast-tracked. I honestly thought they would do what they did last year and carry the left over Glee eps from the first half of the season through summer.
God knows Ten need decent fare especially this summer as they need to be able to promote 11 and the new news lineup!
I think we’re only one week behind the us with glee, and after the rocky horror ep, they’re off for one week – not back there til nov 9. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Stupid stupid move by ten! should be
