Seven: Summer schedule

Outlaw, I Shouldn't be Alive, Minute to Win It USA, Medical Emergency, ICU and Beat the Star are some of the titles Seven plans for summer.

Seven has released preliminary details on its Summer Schedule, set to begin on Sunday November 28th.

Now that we have so many digital channels, schedules this year may not be as rosy as previous years -but at least there will be more choice than ever before.

Here are some of the key titles due on Seven this summer, although timeslots for some are yet to be announced:

Outlaw: NBC’s legal drama starring Jimmy Smits
I Shouldn’t Be Alive: from the producers of the acclaimed film Touching The Void, this new series showcases true stories of human survival against all odds.
Minute to Win It USA.
Animal Squad , British RSPCA series.

New episodes of Under the Hammer, Medical Emergency, ICU, Border Patrol, Coastwatch and Beat the Star.

James Tobin hosts a new season of No Leave, No Life following overworked Aussies who live to work on an unforgettable holiday where their only job is to relax and have fun.

Tom Williams and Rachael Finch host new travel series High Road, Low Road, travelling to one destination, with one on a budget, the other with unlimited cash.

Meanwhile, 7TWO introduces a new Lifestyle Sunday Night featuring Bargain Hunt, 10 Years Younger in 10 Days, Escape to the County, Great British Journeys, Escape to the Sun and Extreme Health Farm.

7mate adds The Shield (not The Sheila?) and The Drew Carey Show. Engineering Disasters also premieres this Summer. The Sopranos will also move to 7mate.

  1. @Matt – unfortunately the “TBA” eps are repeats (like just about everything else on that schedule) of the TBA series from last summer!

I wouldn’t mind starting “The Shield” again from S1E1 – a gritty “street-feel” drama to fill the gap left by others that have either just finished or will soon.

  2. 7 summer is now essentially 7mate + 7two. Or at least it was, seriously, what are they going to put on the main channel when all their summer shows are showing on their other 2 channels.

I for one am disappointed that family guy moved to 7mate because my digital HDD recorder does not record HD and, apart from the news, I don’t normally watch shows live, I normally tape and watch when I have time… so I think ‘it’s time’, yes it’s time that channel 7 picked up their act and re-introduce 7HD, with the odd break away.

  3. TBA. To Be Amazed? More like To Be Annoyed.
I don’t want movies. Beat thye star will just fail even more!
Yawn. I;m off to TEN and then 11. Nine will have to wait and see.

Also is this a bit early for summer. Nov hasn’t finished and they’re in it already?

  4. Shield going to 7mate huh, makes sense. more of a guys show, but Seven don’t usually air Sony/Tristar shows. I would have thought it would air on Gem or something. Sopranos should just stay on 7Two, aren’t they up to season 6 by now? people on holiday at the moment may have it set up to tape through Tivo or something, only to come home to find they’ve missed many eps.

  5. How bland. There is nothing on there for me. The shows I would have looked at were probably on the digital channels that I didn’t watch because they clashed with other shows on the main channels during the year.

  6. I remember once upon a time looking forward to summer. We’d actually get to see lots of different shows – a change from regular programming. This schedule doesn’t look all that different to what’s on now. And what’s with all the real-life, lifestyle type programs? Boring!!!!!!!

  7. Lame. Repeats, repeats, repeats. I’ll just catch up on all the new episodes of shows online then. Wasn’t Outlaw cancelled in the US??? If not, i heard it was in the bad pile of new shows anyway.

  8. @Matt – Channel Nine used to go one better on their website… when you clicked on “All Nine Shows” it listed “To Be Advised” amongst all their other titles, for over a year.

  9. There are no new eps of The Event for December in the US so will they re-run what they have once out of new eps?

With the new channels it looks like a quite summer, time to catch up on the DVDs and watch Austar.

  10. Interesting stuff, and unusual to hear from Seven first on their summer schedule!

Surprised they are running repeats of HIMYM considering how many times it is currently replayed across Seven and 7mate.

Bones, Castle and Criminal Minds repeats could get dangerous as well – Gordon Ramsay style-overkill?!?

Glad to see AmRa continuing on Thursdays. Now just have to wait and see what fills all those TBAs!
