Hey Hey talks resume

"We still remain eager and optimistic about the future," Daryl Somers tells Hey Hey fans.

This week Daryl Somers told Hey Hey it’s Saturday fans that discussions on the future of the show were back on the agenda.

On the Hey Hey Facebook page, he expressed concern for victims of the floods and added:

“On the television front there is nothing concrete to announce other than talks are resuming with Nine re: Hey Hey. We still remain eager and optimistic about the future but only time will tell.

“I’ll report back in due course but for the moment urge you to give what you can to those in need.”

In Nine promos claiming the channel as ‘The Home of Laughter’ in 2011, attention has swung to Ben Elton and US imports including new shows for William Shatner, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and comedies by Chuck Lorre.

Facebook fans who were pivotal to the show’s revival continue to plead with Nine to renew Hey Hey and are campaigning for Logie votes.

  1. He just answered his own comment…lol
You are correct, they will only look at their best interest and that’s the “low” ratings of 600 000 viewers. Nine said in 2009 that they would like a figure of 1.1 million a week. Might as well air a episode of the classic Two and a half men and get the same amount of viewers or Motorway patrol? which got more viewers then the poor old struggling Hey Hey its Saturday. Oh, so desperate Daryl but yet so far.

Face it, talks means its ending or ended. Its a way of trying to lay low without fans knowing. Fans will forget and discharge the sad struggling show. Warnie hasn’t even been officially axed, just ‘taken off-air’

You just pretty much said it’s going to get axed! LOL Good work ‘Hey Hey all the way’, you finally agree. Yayy 🙂

Enjoy another 2x funny Big Bang instead. Bye

  2. Sure Sure. Open your eyes mate or adjust your glasses. Every comment here, except 2 “loner” users, say Hey Hey is rubbish. If Hey Hey has such great true fans they would be here backing up the show.. but they aren’t so it has spoken for itself.

2 users out of 49 users say they want it back.. That’s shocking when they’re supposed to be a large fan base.

Anyway, Its simple, Hey Hey is in the situation because it didn’t get good enough ratings by viewers (as has been shown) and it’s now payed off and made many people happy (More than “600 00+”) . lmao

Stop trying to make poor excuses to save the show because you’re embarrassing yourself and its very few ‘true’ fans.

The longer the talks to less likely the show will return. If it was ‘sooo popular’ the talks would be over already.. so it just shows how boring and dull the show is. (History repeats itself…again) [o no!]. It seems no other network has came to the rescue either.. (It figures. Why would another network want a show when it’s about to get axed due to poor ratings on another? hmmm..)

I understand you’re a fan but it’s time to accept the truth. And may the truth be heard in the coming weeks 

Trust me, sponsors will look at the negative comments as they need to know why they show has lost soo many viewers. (2 million viewers lost) << Yep, thats the figures, 2 million.

haha Anyway, can’t wait for the announcement of its axing.. I think I will be reliving 1999.. again 😉

Fans had their chance, twice, and its blown… again.
I will end my convo there and allow you to organise its farewell party. Tip: (Maybe just make it similar to its last one)

    Cya.

  3. At the end of the Day – The bosses at Channel 9 will only look at their best interest and thats the 604,000 fans which equates to viewers + the Rest and not to your 1 liner negative comment 🙂 Cheers 🙂
