Could Larry Emdur quit Seven to return to Nine and co-host the Today show?

More speculation today over the future of Karl Stefanovic’s on the Today show with a report that Nine is looking to lure Larry Emdur back to a possible replacement.

Emdur has been with Seven since 2005 when he hosted Wheel of Fortune and has been co-hosting The Morning Show since mid-2007.

News Limited reports he has six months remaining on his contract with Seven.

Nine spokesman David Hurley said: “We think he’s a great and versatile talent . . . and if he happened to come home we’d regard that as a good result.”

Seven need to pull there finger out and offer Larry a suitable contract to stay with Seven and continue hosting The Morning Show or better still,as previously mentioned is it time to freshen up Sunrise and put Larry in the chair and send Kochie of to Sunday night ? The chemistry between Larry and Kylie is what makes The Morning show addictable viewing ..No Larry will most definetly see a dip in The Morning Show ratings you would think.

  7. No way. I hope Seven offers him enough for him to stay. Larry should replace Kochie on Sunrise instead. He has been great all this week. Actually the Sunrise team all week has been great. Maybe its time for a change on Sunrise. I think it has been a breath of fresh air to have Nat and Larry host plus Sarah Cumming is a great talent.

  11. I hope Larry stays on at 7. He and Kylie are great on the mornings how and he has been really good co hosting sunrise this week. He is also good on weekend sunrise. Dont go to the today show.

  14. He was great on Family Double Dare and Celebrity Dog School. I can even remember him grinning his way through reading the news on News Overnight. Yep, he’d be great on Today.

  17. I love Larry on The Morning Show. No-one can do The Morning Show better than Larry and Kylie. I hope he doesn’t leave Seven. He is a great asset to the network <3

  20. Seven should hold on tight to Larry. Isnt Larry’s home technically Seven? Wasn’t he the youngest Newsreader for 7 when Larry was 18 around 1983?

I like Larry, and think he is perfect in what he is currently doing – but he is no journo and although Karl can be a bit of a dill, he is a solid journo and Today’s reputation, for me, anyway rests with its ability to juggle news, entertainment and info in a more traditional way. Sunrise thinks it does this, but to me it is just infotainment. Larry would be out of his depth on Today. Strangely enough Lisa and Karl have good chemistry – if he does leave – not sure who is right for it.

  24. I hope Nine do sign Larry to host Today. Larry is great tv host with warmth,humour,and totally professsional. I have been watching him on Saturday Sunrise and love watching him every week,and last week filling in on weekday Sunrise. He did great job last week .My perfect team for Today would be Larry and the beautiful and talented Georgie Gardner,both would be great team together.Unike current team of little boy Karl and the Fake Lisa Wilkinson.But again its that time of year rumours and stories of people swapping networks,but l really do hope that this story does become true
