Kiefer Sutherland is in preliminary talks to play the lead role in Touch, a drama pilot from Heroes creator Tim Kring.

The 24 star would play the father of a mute, autistic son can actually predict events before they happen.

Touch marks Kring’s first pilot script since Heroes.

Sutherland recently talked up a 24 movie, but the studio said it was still a long way off.

A FOX publicist said, “The project is still in development, with no director attached. All the other details have been reported.”

  1. Squirrel, Grammys make you nervous?

Richo, he’s a hack writer. The first season was just a flashier, lesser 4400, with a horrible finale, the second season was bad, he apologised and then proceeded to drive the show further into the ground. Killing a hit show that quickly takes serious effort.

  2. Hmm, don’t know what happened there. My comment was supposed to say:
I hope he’s learnt from what happened with “Heroes”, and maintains focus with the storyline. Confusing *and* mysterious, like with “Lost”, works for me but just being confusing (as Heroes became) is only going to shed viewers.

Killing off a character and then bringing him back almost straight away rarely works, and the whole Robert Knepper thing could have been good if it hadn’t already been done by “Carnivale”. (Shame we didn’t get a second series of that).

  3. Everyone loves to hate on Tim Kring for some reason! I know the last few seasons of Heroes weren’t must-see TV but they were still more entertaining than most of the crap from the past few years.

I’d be willing to give this series a go. Not sure how it would work as a multi-season show though. Seems to be The Dead Zone meets No Ordinary Family in that its a kid who can see the future.
