The Amazing Race Australia cast

Updated: Check out the first photo of the full cast of The Amazing Race Australia, snapped on the field of the MCG.

Seven has revealed its first photo of the full cast of The Amazing Race Australia.

Snapped on the field of the MCG, where the race began last year, the teams are Chris & Anastasia, Anne-Marie & Tracy, Dave & Kelly, Jeff & Luke, Mo & Mos, Sam & Renae, Nathan & Tyler, Richard & Joey, Tom & Matt, Liberty & Ryot, Alana & Mel.

In true TAR style, they are dressed in matching or ‘team-defining’ attire -including what looks like our own cowboys, er, jackaroos (update: farmers).

With over 40,000 applications the show promises to be one of Seven’s most anticipated series this year.

There’s no airdate just yet, but a “Coming Soon” suggests it could be due next month when the current US series ends.

The show is hosted by Grant Bowler.

  2. I already love the two chubby sisters (?) in red at the back in the first photo! Them to win!!

I already loathe the metrosexuals in the front left with the rags on their heads. I hope they lose.

  3. 40,000 applicants but suprise suprise, I can count at least 4 teams already which have links to celebrity, fame or previous public awareness. Much like the US series, unless you have a semi-famous status, you have a very slim chance of getting in the show.

  4. @ Anthony Mai, they’re boring? You gather that from a photo. Harsh? Let’s wait for the show to start, before we determine whether they’re boring or not?

  5. @ kay :

They don’t all look like fit, beautiful people to me…there will of course be an element of these just as there are in TAR US. Sometimes the “beautifulpeople” turn out to be the most interesting to watch.

I don’t think the production values will be low on this…I don’t think the creators of the show would allow their product to be cheapened.

  6. Looking forward to the Aussie version. Just hope we have some characters and not just fit beautiful people. I want to see every day people compete as well!

  7. Let’s just hope this is better than the atrocious “Australian Survivor” they tried about 10 years ago…

It all comes down to production values. Australian producers are notoriously cheap (or poor) so corners are cut here and there that effect the overall product.

Hopefully there’s a few decent personalities in the cast worth watching

‘… featuring an all white Australia cast!’

Um….the two guys standing next to the girls with their arms folded don’t look particulary ‘white’…

  9. I bet that team with the red and white striped shirts will get on my nerves…they just look like they’ll complain about little things, the woman will struggle running distances and climbing obstacles.

But that middle aged female couple at the back look like they’ll be the biggest complainers. Roll on TAR!

  10. News Limited papers revealed details of some of the teams yesterday. For example, Renae Wauhop (who partnered with Sam) finished second to Jesinta Campbell in Miss Universe Australia 2010, Nathan Joliffe is Erin McNaught’s boyfriend and his partner Tyler Adkins is a Sydney fashion designer. Mo and Mos is the only Victorian team in the competition.
