7Mate is the home of male-skewed titles and 7TWO is leading total people growth.

Next up in this week’s look at Multichannels are 7Mate and 7TWO.

7Mate targets males 16-54 with plenty of genres including sport, comedy, animation and movies.

Local titles include Outback Truckers, Kinne, plus AFL sport and panel shows Talking Footy and the Footy Fix.

Last year 7TWO was targetting People 30+ and Families, but this year it broadens to Total People.

In addition to its UK dramas, 7TWO has first-run local titles, Best Houses Australia and Before & After plus coverage of Wimbledon. The channel claims to be leading in Total People growth.

  1. Why is that they are pushing quad tuner pvrs and with the Beyonwiz T3 and T4 when their is just garbage on these multichannels. Can’t they put on even a re-transmission of a news channel on these channels instead of wasting the bandwidth on reality stuff. At least it will be something worth watching. Give us actual first-run content then they may be a justificiation to get a multi-tuner pvr. Oh yep thank god for Foxtel. At least their is some first-run content on there.

    Umm really? Criminal Minds was on 7TWO during summer – got me into the show after having nothing else to watch.

    I guess by catch up though they mean the same show and ep that aired on Seven within the last 7 days…

  3. Hmmmm. No response to the question about broadcasting Seven (primary channel) in HD. Says it all. But we do have blurry horse racing to look forward to from tomorrow on channel 78

  4. Mate is becoming increasingly dominated by a big pile of mediocre observational/reality shows on weeknights. Pawnshops, rednecks, bargain hunting, truckers and now gold mining… there’s got to be more out there than that!

    Yet the only original content is real estate lifestyle and sport that doesn’t fit on 71. The only “great British drama” is Mr Selfridge which is being burnt off late on Saturday nights. The rest is repeats of 20 year old mysteries while they sit on new eps of Lewis and Endeavour.

    And where is Once Upon a Time?

    Not watching any of that junk.

  6. 7 looks silly when they have “live in HD” on the top right hand corner of talking footy a show which just has three men sitting in a studio chatting about footy while their coverage of actual AFL matches isn’t in hd.

    I would prefer shows like greys anatomy to be fast tracked and aired at an earlier time on 7two. It feels like seven are punishing their viewers with long waits and ridiculously late timeslots for their overseas dramas on their reality obsessed main channel.
