Nine has confirmed its Celebrity Apprentice cast for 2015, with some big attention-seekers amongst its ranks:
Esther Anderson: Popular Aussie actress.
Mel Greig: Radio DJ.
Gabi Grecko: Mrs Edelsten.
Gina Liano: Real Housewife.
Tegan Martin: Miss Universe Australia.
Sophie Monk: Aussie “It” girl.
Matt Cooper: NRL Superstar.
Tim Dormer: Big Brother winner.
Geoffrey Edelsten: Aussie Tycoon.
Blake Garvey: The Bachelor.
James Mathison: Aussie TV music presenter.
Richard Reid: Hollywood Gossip Guru.
The list includes husband & wife Geoffrey Edelsten & Gabi Grecko, the flamboyant Gina Liano and ex-Bachelor Blake Garvey. It also includes TV presenter James Mathison who, on the weekend, said Reality TV had been “done to death.”
Mark Bouris, Chairman of Yellow Brick Road, returns to the Board Room chair, with Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Shelley Barrett, of ModelCo, as mentors.
The FremantleMedia Australia production began filming yesterday and is tipped to air later this year.

Oh no. Blake Garveys voice is like chalk on a blackboard to me!
Yes, same here.
This is going to be gold. Bring it!
A load of Has – beens and wannabees, another Yawn in TV Viewing.
A bit of a reality overload with 33% of the cast being on a reality show prior to this. Mel (TAR2011), Blake (Bacholor2014), Tim (BB2013) and Gina (“Real Housewives”)
Yep. Reality show contestant is not a “celebrity” anything.
What a high Bogan content in that cast. I’m not familiar with Gina Liano’s work apart from her recent stint in neighbours where she appeared like a dead fish compared to the very talented regular cast. Obviously I’ve missed out on what the fuss is about her.
“Obviously I’ve missed out on what the fuss is about her.”
No. No you really haven’t.
OMG! I nearly choked on my Green Tea … “very talented regular cast”? Seriously? I only watch it for the new hot gay boy and fast forward through all the rest as they are just dull! I know I am shallow, I don’t care, but I don’t think any of the Neighbours cast deserve any awards for their “performances”. Cough! Cough! … Fast forward….. 🙂
Harsh…. how can you overlook Jackie Woodburne’s 20+ years?
I actually think this is a strong selection of topical celebrities – compared to DWTS and IACGMOH, I doubt the general public wouldn’t be asking ‘who’s that’ with this range!
What an insane selection of “celebrities”! Gina Liano is the only one I would even consider watching it for. But I find the whole show so torturous that I will have to pass!
Wait… so there are going to be 3 Bachelors on 3 different channels during the same period of the year @-@
My understanfing is Nine only decided to throw a reality show into the schedule when The Block tanked and only green lighted CA a few weeks ago. Hence the dregs.
No shortage of washed up reality stars and wanna-be attention seekers there!
Is this the first time a reality show has cast someone who is a convicted criminal? Will give it a miss.
no, off the top of my head; Pauline Hansen and Derryn Hinch have appeared in a few shows. Conviction Kitchen was an entire cast of convicts.
There are more recognisable names than Dancing with the Stars (also produced by FMA), but there is a definite “Redemption Island” tone to some of them!
I agree that this celebrity line-up is more interesting than Dancing with the Stars.
Define what a “Reddemption Island Tone”is? Because to me, it means that this is going to be a sucky season with a sucky cast (just like said season of Survivor)
At least 3 people looking to redeem themselves in the eyes of the Australian public.
This has some real potential to be must-see TV. Bring it on!
Yes, with this line-up of some very dubious “celebs” who will be sure to grate on one another, this should be car crash TV at its very best.
Haven’t heard of most of the so called celebrities and wouldn’t watch Edelstein if you paid me a million dollars.
Won’t be watching this
Is this Celebrity Apprentice or Celebrity Arsehole?
This is a really bad look for Mel Greig. She’s handled herself really well since the drama of the hoax phone call and I’m staggered she’s cashing in on it now.
Seriously, only cashing in now? Every couple of months there has been a sob story about her in the papers, with a fresh interview on how she’s “coming to terms with things” and trying to move on.
Mel Grieg couldn’t even get a job on community radio after that royal hoax tragedy. I hope Nine aren’t using the tragedy and Mel Grieg for a ratings grab.
Yes, she had handled it well but now this is a disgrace.
To be fair, Australia is a pretty ‘small market’ in the entertainment world compared to the US and UK. At least we have heard of some (if not most) of these people.
I liked the Aussie Apprentice with non-celebrities. I won’t be watching this.
This is the most unappealing group of “celebrities” I’ve come across.
Interesting line-up. I enjoyed Gina on Neighbours as she reminded me of Irene from Home and Away. I don’t like Mel Greig for she was behind the Royal Hoax.
Oh I did laugh at “Geoffrey Edelsten : Aussie Tycoon”
I guess “Geoffrey Edelsten : Aussie Bankrupt and ex-convict ” just doesn’t sound as good.
As far as celebrity casts go it’s relativrly decent, sophie monk is a good get. But a lot of reality show backgrounds. Casting mel Grieg is pretty controversial.
Is that seriously the best celebrity cast Nine could get.
With the Edelstens and Blake Garvey it seems like Nine is not even trying.
I hope the costs getting these ‘celebrities’ to appear isn’t too much. If it costs a lot, it will be the most expensive blunder this year.
