Eddie McGuire will not be returning to host the AFL Footy Show.
McGuire’s contract with Nine is for entertainment shows, while he has an exclusive contract with FOX Sport for sporting content.
FOX Sports chief executive Patrick Delany has told the Herald Sun: “We are committed to Eddie McGuire just as Eddie is committed to FOX Footy. We look forward to the season getting under way soon, and Eddie anchoring Friday Night Footy on FOX.”
McGuire had no further comment on the speculation.
The show resumes in early March.

More concerning for me is Fox Sports are still committed to having Eddie as part of Fox Footy!
That’s a shame. The Footy Show was much better with Eddie and Trevor.
Agreed. I have barely watched it since Eddie left. Don’t enjoy it at all.
THe AFL Footy Show is pretty much an entertainment show these days, with a few minutes talking about the betting odds for upcoming games. It should be okay :/
Wasted opportunity here, you have to think The Footy Show will never be the same again after all the scandal of this past few weeks.
Eddie could’ve rejuvenated the show and given it another solid run of 5 or more years, and it would’ve got 9 out of the issue of Hot Seat looked so dated compared to The Chase which will only continue to streak ahead in the ratings, wait til winter when the numbers inch closer to 800s and 900ks leading 7 News to take back the race lead
