Rugby League World Cup 2017: final

Seven’s coverage of the Rugby League World Cup final takes place on Saturday night, hosted by Jim Wilson with Laurie Daley, Benji Marshall, Allana Ferguson and Mark Geyer.

Mark Braybrook will call the men’s final with commentary from Gary Belcher and Brett Kimmorley on the sidelines.

The Women’s Rugby League World Cup takes place on Saturday afternoon with David Tapp, Renee Gartner and Andrew Ryan.

Australia will be aiming for an 11th Rugby League World Cup title when it faces arch enemy England at Brisbane Stadium Saturday night.

The Australians were convincing again on the weekend as they annihilated Fiji in the semi – final running out winners 54 – 6.

Wayne Bennett’s English side scraped through their semi – final 20 – 18 over Tonga in high controversy, as Tonga lost control of the ball jus t before they seemed set to cross for the match – winning try.

England will be hoping to turn the tables from the last time these two teams met in the decider in 1995 when Australia triumphed 16 – 8.

Prior to the men’s final, Australia and New Zealand will meet for the third consecutive time in the women’s Rugby League World Cup final in Brisbane.

Defending women’s champions, the Jillaroos, have been impressive in the lead – up to the final winning the semi – final 58 – 6 against Canada, while the Kiwis also ran out convincing winners 52 – 4 over England.

Seven’s RLWC has reached 6.6 million broadcast viewers nationally to date and 12.2 million live streaming minutes.
