Today Show’s top end wedding

David Campbell turns wedding singer for a viewer contest wedding package in Darwin.

On Monday the Today show is in Darwin for the wedding of Steve & Lauren following a viewer contest, in conjunction with Tourism NT.

The event will even see David Campbell as wedding singer, and Richard Wilkins helping the celebrant officiate the ceremony, plus Georgie Gardner, Deb Knight, Tom Steinfort and Brooke Boney.

Georgie Gardner says: “We love love on the Today show, and you couldn’t find a more beautiful couple than Steve and Lauren. Tune in as we bring you a dream wedding from a dream location.”

Deb Knight says: “They are such a wonderful couple who have an amazing family and we are just so thrilled to share the love with them in Darwin, one of my favourite cities.”

A nationwide search by Today that saw 13,000 people apply to have an all-expense-paid dream wedding and honeymoon in the Northern Territory will occur this Monday, May 6 in a spectacular live television event.

Teaming up with Tourism NT, Today will screen the wedding of Victorian couple Steve Wadey and Lauren Marsh during Monday’s show live from Darwin’s iconic Pee Wee’s at the Point.

Steve and Lauren, from East Gippsland, won the ultimate wedding package, worth $75,000, in one of the most alluring and magical places in the world. In just six weeks, every detail has been looked after, with the prize including flights and accommodation for the lucky couple, and 40 of their closest friends and family.

The prize includes a wedding planner, celebrant, photographer, cars, florist, hair and make-up artists, the dress and the ring. And then there’s the entire reception including the cake and catering – and for those who can’t make the wedding, it will all be broadcast live on Today.

Today has a long tradition of hosting “Marry in the Morning” competitions that stretch back to 2003 when Tracy Grimshaw and Steve Liebmann were hosting the program. Locations for previous Today weddings include Hayman Island and Sydney’s Botanical Gardens.

5:30am Monday on Nine.
