Aussie producer lands US exec role

Ex-Big Brother producer becomes ITV America executive vice president of programming.

Australian producer Simon Thomas, who started on Big Brother for Southern Star Endemol, has been installed ITV America executive vice president of programming, West Coast.

Thomas, who is executive producer of the newly-launched US version of Love Island, has been senior VP of programming of ITV America.

In Australia he also worked on No Leave No Life, Beauty & The Geek Australia, Make Me a Supermodel, Last Chance Surgery and Million Dollar Drop before US titles Pawn Stars, Forged in Fire, Knife or Death and Counting Cars, First 48 Most Notorious, OJ: Guilty in Vegas, American Grit and and Texas Cake House.

“Simon is a seasoned executive, a brilliant, hands-on producer and an extraordinary leader who will play a vital role in ITV America’s continued success,” ITV America CEO David George said. “His ability to produce big formats and smaller-budget content gives us the perfect hitter for our broad bench of programming.”
