Foxtel in “advanced discussions” to return The Great Australian Bake Off

There have been some changes behind the scenes, but Bake Off looks destined for a return to Foxtel.

The Great Australian Bake Off looks set to return to Foxtel.

There’s been some industry chatter about production of the show which has moved from Fremantle to BBC Studios Australia, including whether it may move to Seven or not.

Last year Seven execs said the format of Bake-Off could “pop up somewhere at some stage, but it’s not a priority for us.”

A Foxtel spokesperson today told TV Tonight, “Foxtel is in advanced discussions with the BBC to re-commission further series of “The Great Australian Bake Off.

It isn’t clear if there will be any changes to the line-up. Meanwhile the UK production recently pulled some of Britain’s best numbers in decades, thanks to the casting of Matt Lucas and Covid lockdowns.

  1. I have already watched the gbb and foxtel hasnt screened it yet whats the point no wonder no one watches foxtel they have more ads than free to air I am sure they havent paid off there 250 million debt I know they are trying to get rid of people with IQ Boxes they wanted to upgrade me for free no thanks my gf got one and the blue tooth control doesnt work most of the time and the box itself is full of bugs and its no good ringing up they are in another country and cannot be understood

  2. Surely there is potential for a Foxtel/10 arrangement similar to Gogglebox?

Admittedly maybe give it a week delay or something? I’m a huge fan, perhaps i’m biased, but i felt the AU show was at its best when it was airing yearly. Not some weird 18month/2 year delay between filming and airing?

  3. Glad to see they have not given up on the show, despite their treatment of the Australian and UK seasons over the pat few years. I’m sure Pooch Perfect took over the ‘Bake Off Shed’ last year and remodeled it for their show.
