Auditions: The Great Australian Bake Off

New cooking season on Foxtel is now open for amateur bakers.

The Great Australian Bake Off is now confirmed as returning to Foxtel, following an earlier statement that a deal was close.

The series last aired in 2019. Now produced by BBC Studios Australia the show is open for casting.

“Are you passionate about your pastry? Are you a legend in the baking? Does your sponge rise to the challenge? From biscuits to bread, pies to pavlovas could you be ready to step into The Bake Off Shed, throw on your apron and have your bakes judged by two of Australia’s most beloved culinary icons? If you’re a Star Baker in the making, we knead to hear from you!” a casting notice announces.

Applicants must be aged 16 years or above, an Australian citizen or resident and and cannot have completed any professional cooking or catering qualifications (such as tertiary or TAFE) in the last 10 years.

All GABO contestants must be amateur cooks. You must warrant that you are not a professional chef, baker, caterer, recipe writer or food technologist nor have you worked professionally in this capacity for a total of more than 8 weeks in the last 8 years.

Deadline for applications: midnight, Sunday 18th July, 2021 AEST.

    David is it confirmed that Maggie and Matt will be back? And that Mel and Claire will host?

  2. Great i like the bake off because of Maggie beer and because it’s not overdone like Masterchef is just 1 hour episode a week for about 10 weeks
