Melissa Doyle to host This is Your Life

After nearly two years Melissa Doyle will reappear on Seven screens for nostalgic biography show.

Former Sunrise and Seven News presenter will reappear on the network to present This is Your Life.

As revealed by TV Tonight, the series will screen later this year, profiling famous Australians in showbiz, sport and more.

It is produced by ITV Studios Australia -Doyle recently narrated Australia Behind Bars for Nine, although some media reported this as her joining the Nine network.

She departed Sunrise in 2013 and Seven in later in August 2020.

Melissa said: “I am honoured to continue the legacy of such an iconic program as This Is Your Life. I can’t wait to present the Big Red Book to some of our most loved Australians and together celebrate their remarkable lives and the people and moments which mean so much to them – and to all of us.”

Seven’s Chief Content Officer, Entertainment Programming, Angus Ross, said: “This Is Your Life was an iconic and incredibly successful show for many years. We can’t wait to bring the format into 2022 and to welcome Mel Doyle back to Seven as its host.

“Mel is one of the best in the business. Intelligent, warm and engaging, she is the perfect person to present This Is Your Life and to celebrate the careers and achievements of some extraordinary Australians.”

  1. I would love to see Mike Walsh honoured. Anyone under 30 has probably never heard of him. The Mike Walsh Show was an institution at midday. Then 9 screwed him over. I have never heard his life story. It would be fascinating.

  2. This is your life? I thought it was April Fools’ Day again. This is your life may have been relevant in the 1960s and 70s but nowadays when you can get information about any person of note from Wikipedia and Google it is all rather redundant

  3. Not a bad move, truth be told! I’ve always thought of TIYL as either stuffy, English and grey or stuffy, bland and on Channel 9. Melissa would turn it into fresh, feel good television.
