Great to see ABC screen a special next Monday night Neighbours: End of the Road.
ABC journalist Margaret Paul, a self-confessed Neighbours fan, takes a look at the impact the series has made, goes behind the scenes as the final episodes go into production and gets an insight into some of the challenges Neighbours has faced as it churned out over 200 episodes a year.
The special includes interviews with executive producer Jason Herbison, TV historian Andrew Mercado and former cast members Ian Smith and Anne Charleston.
I imagine this one will also be sold to British viewers by ABC Commercial.
9:35pm Monday on ABC.

Why can’t paramount just make the show for streaming only that way it could continue
Paramount+ is owned by Paramount Global who also own Channel 5 in the UK (who axed the series, hence why Neighbours itself is being axed) and Channel 10 in Aus. So there was unfortunately no chance of that happening.
Channel 5 in U.K. would want to hurry up and buy it.
RTÉ in Ireland are big fans off Aussie content and screen the show so should get it.
Thanks for the reminder about this, I just set the PVR. Shame it is only a 30 minute show. Surely 10 must have something in the works of a 60-90 minute reflective special.
30 mins on ABC is equal to 60 mins of ad cluttered time on 10…
