Criminal Minds revival proceeding

Former stars set to return to crime procedural which last wrapped in 2020.

The Criminal Minds revival is finally moving forward.

The long-running procedural has received a 10-episode order by Paramount+.

The project was first reported as being in development in early 2021, though star Paget Brewster had said on social media later that year that project appeared to be “dead.”

Created by Jeff Davis, Criminal Minds was an incredibly popular procedural in the US, beginning in 2005 and running for 15 seasons. It remained one of CBS’ most watched shows throughout most of its time on the air.

Over the course of its run, the cast included Mandy Patinkin, Shemar Moore, Joe Mantegna, Aisha Tyler, Matthew Gray Gubler, Thomas Gibson, Lola Glaudini, Brewster and it ignited two spinoffs — Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, A.J. Cook, Tyler and Brewster are all expected to return.

It’s not clear where the show will screen in Australia, likely on Paramount+ or 10.

  1. It will be weird, it’s such a quintessential broadcast show. Is it really a revival if there is only a 2 year gap? That’s becoming more of a standard gap between seasons.
